Mohd Azizul Ramli 2 Report post Posted January 28, 2011 It is now confirmed that KLIA2's completion is delayed by 6 months from April 2012 to October 2012, proving that Uncle Tony's worries are valid after all. It is now confirmed that KLIA2's completion is delayed by 6 months from April 2012 to October 2012, proving that Uncle Tony's worries are valid after all. Uncle Tony is even boasting that he does not see KLIA2 coming online until sometime in 2013! He alleged that aircraft deliveries have all been postponed and more new planes will now be diverted outside Malaysia to their sister airlines! We might hear of another postponement later this year - maybe into the timeframe when the A320NEO will become available!
Mohd Azizul Ramli 2 Report post Posted February 14, 2011 KLIA 2 slated to open in October 2012 By Maizatul Ranai Published: 2011/01/25 The new permanent low-cost carrier (LCCT), dubbed "KLIA 2", is scheduled for operation in October next year. Transport Minister Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha said the current LCCT in Sepang will be converted into a cargo terminal. "Those low-cost carrier operators who are reluctant to move have to do it as we are converting the terminal for cargo movement," Kong said. He said the KLIA 2 will be completed by next year. "Work in the terminal and runways are so far progressing. We are expecting the terminal to be fully used latest by year-end of 2011," he added. Kong said the new LCCT, which is sited on 243,000 sq m and 2km from the main Kuala Lumpur International Airport terminal, will be able to handle 30 million passengers a year. It can be expanded to up to 45 million passengers. "A lot of people has complained that the current LCCT has become too overcrowded and congested. Last year alone, the terminal handled about 17 million passengers, beyond its capability of handling up to 15 million passengers," he said. Kong was speaking to reporters at the handing-over of the Flight Inspection System by Systematic Aviation Services to the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, yesterday. The mobile system, which can be installed in an aircraft to monitor the safety of aircraft traffic within the 22 air terminals in the country, can also be used in hangars or on runways. He said the system, worth RM20.43 million, will increase the safety levels of civil fights. He said a total of 820,000 aircraft movements were recorded by DCA traffic control towers nationwide last year.

There is a construction opposite the mosque / MAB HQ, on the left side of the main road to MTB just after the flyover to LCCT / Salak Tinggi. Could this be the one?
