Izanee 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2016 Sad to see MH leave many destinations... But if that's what it takes to keep it alive, so be it
Mulyadir Fitri 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2016 (edited) Some pictures I've found on Twitter: These guys went through a lot especially when handling the MH17 tragedy last time. I guess they were really wishing MH won't give up on AMS. Here's hoping that we will see the wau again at Schiphol in the not too distant future Edited January 28, 2016 by Mulyadir Fitri

Eddy Liew 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2016 Yup it's really sad to watch but well said people at AMS still cared about MH and gave the last flight a good farewell. I can't see clearly on my small mobile screen but the stewardess standing beside the poster also seems to be going through her emotions. With the codeshare with Emirates starting soon I however don't see MH will be back at AMS for the foreseeable future, sadly.

kandiah k 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2016 It is sad indeed since MH was a popular choice for the Dutch for flights to South East Asia and Oceania besides the MH17 connection too. I don't see CDG and FRA as emotional as AMS and perhaps the impact at those stations are not great as AMS. Hopefully, someday, MH might restart AMS with their own metal. Would we se KL increase frequencies to KUL.

Najib Ramli 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2016 It's now February and I can see a lot more destinations in MAS flight search/booking engine. However, none of the flights are operated by Emirates. What's more weird is that some of the European flights are actually operated by KLM (ie: KUL - CPH) with a stop in AMS or with other oneworld partners (ie Sri Lankan for FCO). I don't remember seeing these options in the past. I would expect that with the partnership now effective, we should have been able to book flights (operated by Emirates) on MAS website right away..but that does not seems to be the case

Some interline has stop like those with BI.

Yes, KLM will increase from daily to 11 per week from June 16 with a KL811/12 terminating flight (773 also)
Ken K. Kour 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2016 It looks like the MH/EK Partnership is live from the EK Side. Bookings can be made to include domestic destinations in Malaysia now. e.g. AMS-KUL-TWU as below. But, no codeshare or skywards miles or status earned for the domestic legs for the moment. Mohd Azizul Ramli 2 Report post Posted February 5, 2016 I recalled this function has been available on EK's website since many many years ago (as far as 2008 if I am not mistaken). I recalled posting a screenshot of a KCH/BKI/JHB originated flight booked from EK's website at that time while ranting about why MH can't get a simple function on their website works while EK has gone to the point of allowing booking on other unrelated airline (no code share whatsoever) so that it can connects with its flights in KUL (I recalled I was still living in Indonesia so it must be prior to August 2008). Mushrif A 3 Report post Posted February 5, 2016 And if you remove the TWU sectors from the ticket and only have the ticket routed as KUL-AMSvv, EK will sell you a return economy ticket for the same dates for only RM2792 or thereabouts. A fraction of what was quoted if the MH sectors are added. Who would pay RM17000 for an economy ticket from TWU?
Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted February 6, 2016 The codeshare does NOT reflect in the example shown: should have been MH flightnumber all the way down and "operated by EK" should have been visible.

Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted February 7, 2016 Thanks Flee ! It was an emotional day, not only for the MH staff, but also for the many, many KLM staff members providing services for MH all these years ! Btw, the KL809 still had a MH codeshare number last week (30jan) when we took it to KUL, despite the EK one in force already.
Izanee 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2016 I really hope they consider restarting AMS when their financial/logistic situation allows them to. It was one of the routes i have used countless times over the last 18 years. Nice touch by Schiphol though - especially touching because of the horrific loss of MH17 almost 2 years ago which affected so many lives all around the world but especially in Holland and Malaysia. True, I had sent hundreds of employee through that very flight....Much sadness when MAB announced they were scrapping the route. Above all, MH 17 incident brought the two nations closer together. Dutch people are one of the nicest I had dealt with, friendly, approachable and funny...and very resilient! Dank je to KLM and AMS support crews for all these years! We will be back in AMS! This is one thing for sure!
