The full name that I found was Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij.

Is it true?

What is the real meaning of Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij?

i really miss the time when Northwest Airlines serve KUL. I'f i'm not mistaken, once I saw a Continental Micronesia DC-10 back in 1995. I'm not sure wether it's charter or schedule or codeshare.

I still see Merpati, operating out of KUL to SUB.

One thing I noticed is that China Eastern no longer operates daily flight between PVG-KUL?? Can anyone confirm this? It will be very sad to see another airline reducing its frequency.

A major obstacle for foreign airlines operating to KUL is about half of Malaysian population don’t travel on foreign airlines because of uncertain halal food. Hence, foreign airlines need to depend more on their nationals for business and it make more sense to operate via alliance. Further more, the cost of operating a base at KUL is expensive. Therefore fewer airlines choose to online to KUL.

Not only Halal food, no matter where they go, they will say, "I wan't to go to Darwin etc(eventhough not serve by MAS), let see if MAS has empty seats" :)

I guess EK has mentioned that they will use the A380 to KUL, perhaps during the summer schedules where it is considered a peak season. If we are lucky, perhaps even QATAR, SIA and LUFTHANSA occassionaly, who knows, peak seasons are always full of surprises.
