Sharil Abdul Rahman 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2009 Just want to report sightings after a trip to Singapore. Saw what i presumably XXA at the SAE hangar - some maintainence work? I also saw what i think is XAA at a remote stand, where the Lion 747 used to park. Saw 1L open, but didnt see any stairs connected there. Also saw the 727 minyak masak and 727 transmile hanging infront of the MAS Cargo apron. BTW, the construction near the aero-train is i think for the extention of the aero-train line, because i saw the Y-columns that they used to make the aerotrain line being set , with re-bars still sticking out of it. One last sad story - Jalan pekeliling is now officially closed from the bunga raya side. Bye Bye plane hunting

Im gonna check out later again to see if they really close the road.

Joseph Foong 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2009 This is really a sad news for me, becuase my last visited that place is on 2006-2008, but now it seems i never have a oppurturity to spot these metal bird's landing or take-offs at that place anymore, hopefully they only closed for temporary and not for permanents.. Rozhan 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2009 I believe permanently closed from 1-Jan-10. Yes, as per notice which appeared in yesterday's New Straits Times: Malaysia Airports would like to inform that Jalan Pekeliling - West Side through Kompleks Bunga Raya heading to the LCCT-KLIA will be closed effective from 1 January 2010. We will be commencing the new terminal construction works and this route is part of the project site. We regret any inconvinience caused and Malaysia Airports looks forward to serving you better in the future. Thank You !!!

Norman 1 Report post Posted January 1, 2010 Has anyone spotted -XXE yet? She's been around a week now We tried yesterday.... but no luck... As of the last day of 2009... I've some pix to share the activities near Weather Station... Just before you entering the slip road towards Bunga Raya... Big signboard in bright orange... Along the road towards Weather Station Coming in & going out to weather station, you got to cross the newly constructed dirt tracks specifically for the the heavy traffics of trucks.... watch out for them... they've the right of way... More shots of the New LCCT construction... They've the right of way... we got to stop... and I haven't check today (1Jan09)... since the road is officially closed to all non essential traffics... BTW... I was there with WT Liew and 2 spotters from China... here're their guns.. D3s is Simpson D3 & the 40D belongs to Bastion Simpson upgraded to D3s from 1DMkIII and Bastion still keeping the 40D 'cos the white 100-400 L lens was a gift from wifey...
