Peter Smith 1 Report post Posted March 1, 2006 First EK424 service due on Friday at 0010. Opb 343. Will ops 4 times weekly, before moving to daily in October, when we will lose the 343 in favour on 77W!!
Peter Smith 1 Report post Posted March 15, 2006 Here's a few from Sunday... "Qantas 769" 767-336ER VH-ZXF, replacing the scheduled Socceroo's logojet which had gone u/s in SYD. I didn't crop this image at all, very lucky "Virgin 423" 737-8FE VH-VUC, replacing "Head to QLD" logojet For LeeCH, "Singapore 223" 777-212ER 9V-SRI making her 2nd appearance in PER that day! "Thai 998" A330-321 HS-TEF "Qantas 1073" 737-838 VH-VYJ, shaved, the way I like it "Qantas 16" 747-438 VH-OJS, ending a very long trip from LHR (via SIN) "November X-ray Hotel" cruises down short final (717-2K9) "Malaysian 1...25" operated by Hibby 1 for the 2nd Sunday running! And today... "Zulu Zulu Hotel" making her way to Sydney (will arrive after curfew, about 0100LT). Definately one of the nicest a/c we have based in PER. (CL604) A couple for Pieter, "Foxtrot November Hotel" wings her way back home "Foxtrot November India" completes the short hop from Albany in Western Australia's south But this is what we went to see, 737-81Q VH-VOJ making her first daylight appearance in PER since her repaint. This advertises Queensland as a great place to invest, careers, etc. "Virgin 296" for Melbourne Enjoy!

Peter Smith 1 Report post Posted March 15, 2006 Cheers fella's! SRI flew: SQ215 WSSS-YPPH SQ216 YPPH-WSSS SQ223 WSSS-YPPH SQ226 YPPH-WSSS Quite regularly we'll see the same a/c twice in a day, was a trend that began during SARS when SQ sent a mix of SRx's and SVx's to PER. Raj 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2006 Nice shots Liam.. Nice to see Hibiscus.. Like the shot of QF767..Just love the way the main Landing gears...One of a kind..
Peter Smith 1 Report post Posted March 17, 2006 Raj, cheers bro! I do love the 767, its not too modern, but not too old and one rugged beast! The distinct main landing gear of the 767 is such that apart from the cost savings as its easier to produce, it is a design requirement so the gear fits into the hold. It is also supposedly easier on drag and therefore more fuel effecient. However, having said that for the very short periods of time the gear is extended the savings would be next to neglible. Sandeep, talk to you later.
