Azuddin 1 Report post Posted June 10, 2007 I know a few song Kelly Clarkson - Breakaway (listen to the chorus part) Mike Blakely - Let's roll (good song, but i don't recommend. This song is a bit controversy, since it's about United Flight 93 which crash in Pennsylvania.) R Kelly - I believe I can fly (no doubt about it) Mark Wills - Wish you were here (about a couple where the husband died in a plane crash during business trip) Azuddin

Keno Omar 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2007 I'm not sure why Hillary Clinton chose Celine Dion's "You and I" for her presidential campaign. The video clip looks like an advertisement for Air Canada. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_Yx67fRkmo High above the mountains, far across the sea I can hear your voice calling out to me Brighter than the sun and darker than the night I can see your love shining like a light And on and on this earth spins like a carousel If I could travel across the world The secrets I would tell You and I Were meant to fly Higher than the clouds We'll sail across the sky So come with me And you will feel That we're soaring That we're floating up so high Cause you and I were meant to fly Sailing like a bird high on the wings of love Take me higher than all the stars above I'm burning, yearning Gently turning round and round I'm always rising up I never Want to come back down
Ewan Shamsudin 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2007 Hello guys, here's another one. It's from Noorkumalasari, no less! Taken from her 1979 Album "Noor", the song is aptly entitled "Pramugari". It's composed by Akbar Nawab and Noordin Che Din. I remember reading an article in my aunt's very, very old copy of Utusan Radio dan TV around three hundred years ago about young Noorkumalasari and her sister Noorsalasawati. She was quoted as saying that she wanted to be an air hostess. Of course she didn't pursue being one. Otherwise Malaysia wouldn't have got its Noor to brighten up the late 70's and 80's. Children of the nineties, if you don't know who Noorkumalasari is, please consult your aunt. I have done a little editing on the iMovie software by dumping some random photos from my iPhoto library and the mp3 file acquired from my online friend sezali. This is a product of half an hour job. So apologies if it less than imperfect hehehe.... Click here. Enjoy Pramugari Tugas aku pramugari Di atas awan nan tinggi bersama penumpang ku sayangi mana saja hendak pergi siang malam jalan tugas pakaian indah menghias senyuman mesra setiap hari itu tanda ambil hati berbagai ragamnya penumoang kulayan dengan tenang segala tugas biar kemas agar merasa puas tugas jauh tak peduli di dalam dan luar negeri rasa bangga dalam hati jadi seorang pramugari ____ Air Stewardess I am an air stewardess High up in the clouds With my beloved passengers wherever they are heading to I do my work day and night Donning my pretty uniforms And warm smile everyday To capture people's heart Passengers are of all sorts I serve them with patience All work must be neat So that we're happy with it My work takes me far Within and out of the country I feel proud inside 'Cos I am an air stewardess. The lyric is so bimbo-ish, I know. Hahahha...

Andrew Lim 1 Report post Posted December 18, 2007 (edited) How about Mighty Wings from the movie Top Gun?? It's just a ball of dust Underneath my feet It rolls around the sun Doesn't mean that much to me I take a chance on the edge of life Just like all the rest I look inside and dig it out Cause there's no points for second best There's a raging fire in my heart tonight Growing higher and higher in my soul There's a raging fire in the sky tonight I want to ride on the silver dove Far into the night [Chorus] Till I make you take me On your mighty wings Make you take me On your mighty wings across the sky Take me on your mighty wings Take me on your mighty wings tonight With just a little luck A little cold blue steel I cut the night like a razor blade Till I feel the way I want to feel There's a raging fire in my heart tonight Growing higher and higher in my soul There's a raging fire in the sky tonight I want to ride on the silver dove Far into the night [Chorus] Till I make you take me On your mighty wings Make you take me On your mighty wings across the sky Take me on your mighty wings Take me on your mighty wings tonight Take me on your mighty wings Take me on your mighty wings Edited December 18, 2007 by Andrew Lim
Mohd Azizul Ramli 2 Report post Posted December 18, 2007 Makes Me Wonder - Maroon 5 Ewan, the song is only valid if you want to make a video compilation as the lyric doesn't have anything to do with aviation at all. But the video is very aviation-esque; disco like airport, sexy stewardesses catwalking on the aisle, sexy gate agents posing at the aircraft door, sexy custom and immigration doing molestation physical checking, catwalking on the travellator and a lot of aircraft shots inside and out. Mohd Yohan 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2007 "I Believe I Can Fly" by R Kelly... I used to think that I could not go on And life was nothing but an awful song But now I know the meaning of true love I'm leaning on the everlasting arms If I can see it, then I can do it If I just believe it, there's nothing to it [1] I believe I can fly I believe I can touch the sky I think about it every night and day Spread my wings and fly away I believe I can soar I see me running through that open door I believe I can fly I believe I can fly I believe I can fly See I was on the verge of breaking down Sometimes silence can seem so loud There are miracles in life I must achieve But first I know it starts inside of me, oh If I can see it, then I can do it If I just believe it, there's nothing to it [Repeat 1] Hey, cuz I believe in me, oh If I can see it, then I can be it If I just believe it, there's nothing to it [Repeat 1] Hey, if I just spread my wings I can fly I can fly I can fly, hey If I just spread my wings I can fly Fly-eye-eye

Brennan Raj 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2007 Richard Marx-Ready to Fly I've been trying to open the door To the secret of my destiny And every new road I think is the one Seems to lead right back to me I've looked for a way to be wiser A way to be strong Now I see the answer was hiding In me all along Chorus: And I'm ready to fly Over the sun Like a rocket to heaven And I'm ready to soar Right through the sky Never dreamed I'd find something to lift me so high I've always had wings But I wasn't ready to fly Restless, hopeless, and misunderstood Like so many others I know So busy tryin' to keep holdin' on When I should've been letting go I was given the gift to find it The spirit inside me But I never really imagined All I could be Chorus: And I'm ready to fly Over the sun Like a rocket to heaven And I'm ready to soar Right through the sky Never dreamed I'd find something to lift me so high I've always had wings But I wasn't ready to fly The answer to all of my wonder Was right in my hands Now it's time for me to discover All that I am Chorus: And I'm ready to fly Over the sun Like a rocket to heaven And I'm ready to soar Right through the sky Never dreamed I'd find something to lift me so high I've always had wings But I wasn't ready to fly I've always had wings Now I'm finally ready to fly

Irni Mastura 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2008 Haha... interesting topic Few of you mentioned R Kelly's I Believe I Can Fly, but that song actually reminded me most of the OPPOSITE! It was a hit song shortly before the time of the economic downturn, which made our government revised the plan to send off its sponsored students to study overseas because its too expensive. I remember students just few months shy to fly off (like me) to UK or the States singing that song forlornly around campus. Hehe... touchy subject, lol.. I've found one song by Jason Mraz called "Plane", here's the YouTube link of his live performance for those interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHFlUVe5SMo For me, my favorite aviation-themed song is this end theme song of a J-dorama called Good Luck!! which always made me think of airplanes everytime I listened to it. Always, always. It's called Ride On Time, sung by Tatsuro Yamashita, a famous 80s song. (Yes.. its in Japanese). Ahh... and they complimented this end theme song with scenes in ANA hangars, in the cockpits and I was totally envious of the lead star who gets to lie down on the plane's wing! Oh... here's the link to that opening plus ending theme song of that J-dorama, for some of you who are curious: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZY0PKGDBgo
Maarof Kassim 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2008 (edited) My favourite is "Back in the USSR" by The Beatles. At the beginning and end of the song you can hear the sound of a plane landing. Since the song was recorded in 1967 there are two things mentioned in the song which don't exist anymore, so to speak. The first is USSR itself which as we all know has disintegrated. The second is BOAC which has become Brititish Airways. Mohd Azizul Ramli 2 Report post Posted April 30, 2009 (edited) Reviving this wonderful feel good thread. A recent hit by a vocal group (which called themselves the Black Eye Peas of Malaysia), the talented Their music video is thoroughly about aviation; going to SZB Terminal 3, airport scenes and almost the entire scene was shoot inside an aircraft. I am SO SURPRISED that Firefly didn't make use of this song and music video to market themself, I mean FY is being the main feature in this music video - FY flight attendant (whom I swear I saw her pictures before in the Flight Logbook subforum), FY ATR 72-500 cabin interior and exterior while cruising in the skies were the main props of this music video. It could easily being the pre boarding song on FY flights, what a shame. Edited April 30, 2009 by Mohd Azizul Ramli
