Hi guys,

 

Well, been thinking lately, when I drive around the city (be it Perth or KL), I always listening to some form of music.. whether it be radio or CD.. and I always switch around tracks or stations to find the song that suits my mood, as most people i'm sure do..

 

Anyway, most songs I hear, always make me think about flying!! And when I'm driving and hear these songs, I always think to myself.. "gee, I'd rather be flying!".. at traffic lights, i'll stop, take a glimpse at the sky and imagine soaring through the clouds between heaven and earth.. of course not while driving lah! how to look at the clouds and drive in KL?? hehehe

 

Anyway, so I decided to ask the question.. what songs do you listen that inspire the joy of flight in your minds and hearts? Share them here and then we can all make our little compilations and have the MalaysianWings - Songs of Flight album! hahaha kidding, but you can download and make your own ofcourse! Here are some of mine, yes there will be some "strange" selections, but they have personal significance:

I have been a bit more retrospectively nostalgic lately, browsing for old and rare Malay songs. Among my discovery is a song I've not heard for a long time: Polonia by Kumpulan Harmoni.

 

Yes, the song is named after MES (Medan airport).

 

Here's the lyric:

Of course you can change 'Polonia' to an airport name of your choice... but it must fit into the musical bar. 3 syllables and a diphthong, preferrably. So I guess, names which are too short like Kuching, Ipoh, Miri -- and too long like Sultan Ismail Petra -- may sound awkward... hahahah

I remember one malay song by Dato Sharifah Aini, about her iraqi pilot boyfriend than. That guy died in a car crash, thus the song composed by Dato Ahmad Nawab. Can't remember the title though, but quite nice tho melancholic a bit.

On a weekend pass, I wouldn't have had time
