  1. Haven't seen the ad but concept of 1Malaysia is actually a good one. It's fairly similar to Dr M's Bangsa Malaysia and DAP's Malaysian Malaysia. The problem is that it's not being embraced, if anything there is more anti 1Malaysia. If the police, judiciary, other gov institutions and even private sectors fully embrace 1Malaysia, then Malaysia would be a better place.
  2. With no arming codes, can they still fire those missiles? Anyway, the most lethal weapon is actually the people behind it. Talented commander and highly trained soldiers (this case pilots) will often win the battle despite a better equipped enemy.
  3. B52 will be an impressive sight though a bit aging.. even better if they bring B2 stealth bomber
  4. Yea..who is the most passionate and vocal critic?
  5. If you have enough disposable income and time..it's actually a good time to fly... everything's cheap. The saving you make from the heavily discounted fare easily offset any interest you earn from the bank.
  6. No money and no holidays...
  7. Yea, hopefully airlines will continue to offer low fares... provided they don't go bankrupt or reduce their quality too much
  8. Cost cutting.... MAS needs to be lean and efficient.. Cost cutting does not necessarily mean reducing services/quality but reducing wastage. Only when it's lean and efficient, it can be mean and conquer the world.
  9. Cabin crew is rated pretty high in this poll. Though not explicitly, guess young air stewardess is also part of the consideration. Naturally most people will prefer a young lass rather than a makcik to shower them with Malaysian hospitability.
  10. Free injection? Is there a vaccine for H1N1 aka swine flu already? I thought they only have vaccine for pigs.
  11. In flight entertainment for long haul. I get bored pretty easily and it's a torture to sit doing nothing in a long haul flight. And unlike most people, I can't sleep outside my usual sleeping hours. So in flight entertainment wins my vote. It keeps me occupied.
  12. this will further strengthen singapore as the aviation hub of south east asia.. seems like for singapore, it's going forward all the way.
  13. my friend's super expensive johnnie walker swing whiskey was confiscated by some australian security officer last time. the bottle of whiskey was all new, still in a box and not yet opened. it didnt matter that the duty free shop also sell the same liquor just a meters away from the security check. the officer took the bottle, put it under her table and said it was illegal to bring it in. hmm... wonder what did she do with the with the whiskey.. might have a big party.
  14. it may turn out to be a flight of single middle aged women and old horny men. they have more time and money to spare, and they are probably a bit more desperate.
  15. it's a more a case of international travel being so common... i work in medical field in perth, we are supposed to be "protected" from tropical diseases but we still see them thanks to international travel.
  16. Tiger Airway KL-Singapore is not really zero fare after you add in some hidden cost.. like $59 i just checked.. if it's really zero fare, then they can "close shop" or lelong their aircrafts soon.
  17. interesting to see how they make money.. i doubt they make money with those free seats (though got some admin fees and tax) but it's a good publicity for their airlines. good brand building. so people will more likely to fly with air asia in the future.
  18. in kk, you are spoilt for choice when it comes to hotel as already been alluded to earlier in this post. just have to know that promenade apartment and promenade hotel are two different thing. many people confuse the two. promenade hotel is pretty high class but relatively cheaper compare to its peers in its category. it's nearby the coast and makan area.
  19. If I'm not mistaken, Dr M claims that he doesnt get paid as advisor to petronas or maybe just get a pittance amount. If that's the case, maybe it's the same with Badawi.. but then again, i agree, MAS doesn't need Badawi as advisor.. it's a waste of money no matter the amount. that should be part of MAS cost cutting measure.. sack the advisor
  20. as advisor, he can give advice but no one necessarily has to follow them, just like Dr M as advisor to petronas. so unless he gives some enlightening advice (which im very doubtful of, may fall asleep in meetings), i doubt it will make any difference to MAS.
  21. The development in Sarawak makes little sense. It seems like most of the money goes into Mukah. The development is way out of proportion compare with the rest of the state, some need just basic roads. Mukah sees rapid development over the recent years because it's Taib's area. It doesn't need a new airport for 737. It's still a small town with Sibu nearby. Actually the current airport is relatively new (at least the building). When they build the new terminal building, there were talks like the runway could be easily extended if needed.
