  1. In response to the news: Assuming MH given FAX the F50 at 100% condition. and the grounded limit is 50%.. The aircraft is deteriorating at rate (50%/10 month) 5% per month. Hmm that's a lot. So the maintenance work should restore the plane to more than 5% per month as the deteriorating speed should be faster as they are old. But they end up with grounded aircraft eventually... It shows their maintenances work is not enough, isn't it? Furthermore as far as safety is concern.. every aircraft has a specific number of cycles before they must be overhaul, specific MTOW, specific MLW... So more sectors, more rounds and more load is not the question... The question how frequent you send each plane to the MRO?, and how good your fleet planning so that not all plane were grounded at the same time? The timing of this event seem fishy to me.... This all probably happened because MH want an external auditor to audit the plane and their planes are in very terrible state. So they don't want to lose face in front of external auditor. Or the external auditor is the one who force them to ground all plane due to the terrible state.
  2. Hmm but SZB suppose to be for turboprop and private jet only airport.. Since FAX is the one to suggest there should be only 1 turboprop operator in the country, I dont see a way for them to operate from SZB. Unless the government retract the turboprop requirement... which is not impossible...
  3. Here you can download quite a number Air Crash Investigation including Silkair 185
  4. Surprisingly this news were featured my city local newspaper "Der Sonntag". Small column in Front Page. Sometimes it was hard even to find news about Berlin or Frankfurt in this newspaper as it is a regional newspaper. What a surprise.

  12. In a recent news about MH codesharing with AZ... the news stated that the codesharing will be effective from 1. June 2007. which MH passengers can book MH flight to FCO and connecting to BCN, FRA and 3 others. I am interested on FRA AZ(MH) FCO MH KUL I have log on to Alitalia website. Can't even get FCO-KUL... Log on to MH website. Only offering MH05 direct flight FRA MH KUL. I thought with this codesharing MH will have like two flight a day into FRA 1 with own metal.. and 1 with AZ metal... I guess I am wrong... Anyone have better info on this?

  16. Hmm It seems all Right of Landing in Malaysia have been fully utilised by Indian Airlines... It seems that Malaysia sides is at lost if Malaysian Birds land in in India only 26 times whereas Indian Bird 56 times not including Air Sahara, and Air Indian Express M'sia Wants Talks To Resolve Air Dispute With India Bernama Malaysia hopes for India to respond quickly to its request to hold talks in a bid to resolve the air dispute over flights to Malaysia by Indian carriers, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Chan Kong Choy said today. "Although they have not responded to our request for talks, we still agreed to grant Air Sahara the landing rights even when all the rights have been taken up. At the same time, we are also willing to consider Air-India Express' request to be allowed to fly to KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport)," he said. Chan was commenting on the reports that the Indian civil aviation authority has warned of a ban on Malaysia Airlines if domestic carriers Air India Express and Air Sahara were not allowed to land in Kuala Lumpur. Early last month, India's civil aviation department threatened to reduce landing rights for Malaysia Airlines after the airline was alleged to have requested that India's Air Sahara be not allowed to fly to Kuala Lumpur from New Delhi on grounds that passenger volume on this route was low. In total, Malaysia Airlines flies 27 times to major Indian cities weekly while Indian Airlines, Air India and Jet Airways have a combined total of 56 flights to Kuala Lumpur each week.
  17. I dont think that's the case... Since Ryanair had been introduced the "Xpress Boarding" or the Priority Boading as they called it for quite sometime. And It's not because of the people sprinting to the plane... It's just the way to make more money...
  18. From A.net Malaysian Aviation Thread 3 Could it be probably the same numbers of flight a week have been reach? [just a wild guess]
  19. So why on earth Government allow AKX to even start? It's not MH try to compete with AK but it's AK who want to compete with MH! does he ever think of that? Now with AKX the Govt have to negotiates for both MH and AKX when sending envoy to other country for possible landing right. Instead of just MH as nationals carrier. So again why on earth the Government interfere with MH bussiness decision? Like keeping EWR route and giving back to RAS to MH? SQ is the best airlines because nobody interfere with their bussiness decision. and nobody to tell SQ to do this and that. But the Govt is the one who responsible for it if it's happen for bowing to a lot of AK request. Like LCCT why would the govt have to build it just for AK? when in DUB, AerLingus, Ryanair, AerArann can all share the terminal? After all the airport fees are being paid by the pax not the airlines. So why AK whinging for high airport tax in KUL? And of course the govt probably open KUL-SIN before 2009 another decision in favour of AK. Who's screwing who? this is exactly what happen to many GLC
  20. Well there's Airasia Long Haul... imagine flying with 800 people...All economy class...
  21. Hmm the credit is not mine... the quote is from Mandala99 from Airliners.net in Malaysian Aviation Thread
  22. I mean on the screen for passenger in an airport... not the ATC screen... suddenly make me think the announcement for that flight will be interesting too. So at airport the passenger will hear something like "Calling for passengers AirAsia flights AK 47... please proceed to gate ## for boarding" and on board. "Welcome on board AirAsia's flights AK 47 to Afghanistan We are now ready for take off. Please wear your seatbelt and Please do not smoking when the light is on"
  23. hmm that is good enough for me... as on board you dont really need an extra room for it. Just like when i am going shopping in Germany... some time we do it in changing room (where you try the clothes while you are shopping .. that cubicle actually enough for us to perform solat.)
  24. I believe MH 777 & MH 747 have both prayer room. Available to everybody upon request..
  25. I dont know about pilot but as a passenger especially Malaysia Airlines Passenger, I do pray on board and steward and stewardess always help me about it. The Qiblat direction.. hmm Malaysia Airlines flight information system always shows Qiblat direction among other information but usually the steward or stewardess will show me the direction in the Prayers Area. The GPS system can always tell the direction. Regarding time..hmmm of course Jamak and Qassar. since i cant really determine the exact time. So as a result I always wait till it is really late afternoon for Asar & Zohor... and during night for Isyak & Maghrib. So far I have experience no trouble for performing solat on board with Malaysia Airlines. I dont know about other Airlines. That's Why I always prefer Malaysia Airlines if travel across continent..
