was at the airport transit on wed 15 Aug at between 845am and 1020am - and could see 4 A330s ad one A350 at the remote bays. There seems now an "excess" of A330s as imagine 4 were parked at the remote bays at that time of day.

Crewing issue. Some flights jumbled up if load is light some retimed. Those critical cancelled last minute.

Seems a bit better these few weeks compared to the late June/early July, no? Most flights are on time-ish without a lot of cancelations (BKK/SIN/HKG/CGK etc.) or am I mistaken :p

Yesterday BKI 738 got cancelled subbed to a330. BKK one a330 AOG. Though hours are not critical as last june which was crazy. Cabin crew rosters have improved but not tech crew still 100+ hours/month appearing. Internal email specifies overall stabilization will only take effect completely in end of november 2018. For now they'll have to ride through the consumer and crew complaint firestorm while loosing out market share to ak as their frequency are no longer reliable. Bitter medicine for the management to take for their slow ass recovery attempt.

I know for fact 9M-MLM has gotten grounded at KUL (gate A7), I wonder if they will deploy one of their fatty airbuses I saw resting about earlier to fly us home instead :D

I hearing that MH will increase MEL to x17 weekly?

It may be for the Aussie summer season. Quite normal for airlines to increase capacity.

Sounds about right. MH applied (and received MAVCOM's blessings) for an additional 870 seats to MEL (3 x 274 seats on 333 is 822 seats). In addition, MH also received approval for 2 weekly MED services.

OD on the other hand applied and received approval for 1,260 seats for KUL-DPS-SYD wef 12/2018 (presumably waiting for D7 to relinquish their seats at MEL due to bilateral restrictions?).

Does anyone know if MH has added frequencies between KUL and NRT? I noticed they have a red eye flight from KUL departing at 0220LT and arriving into NRT at 1030LT and then departing NRT at 1200LT and arriving into KUL at 1825LT using the flight numbers MH50 and MH51.

I also noticed that MH88 and MH89 as well as MH70 and MH71 are operating as usual.

Rescue flights in lieu of KIX flights.
