Mohd Azizul Ramli 2 Report post Posted April 20, 2011 With a few of MH's new 60 aircrafts have been delivered and currently in the active fleet (todate), I think it is about time we start this thread to monitor the movement and news of the withdrawal of MH's current 'old' aircrafts, from the rumour mills phase until the farewell take off moment. The objective of the thread is to track down where the aircrafts go after their retirement from a golden career with MH, either to a new operator, convert to cargo or heading to the infamous deserts. As we all are well aware of, all these aircrafts will be replaced with MH's spanking new 35 Boeing 737-800, 15 Airbus 330-300 Enhanced and 6 Airbus 380-800 by 2015. MH is expecting to receive the following new aircrafts: 2010: 3 B738 (all delivered - MXA, MXB, MXC) 2011: 4 B738, 5 A333 (5 of 9 have been delivered - MXD, MTA, MTB, MTC, MTD) 2012: 7 B738, 3 A333, 5 A380 2013: 12 B738, 3 A333, 1 A380 2014: 9 B738, 3 A333 2015: 1 A333 We shall have our microscope on all 60 existing 'old' aircrafts in MH's fleet - 38 Boeing 737-400, 3 Airbus 330-200, 9 Airbus 330-300 and 10 Boeing 747-400 (Passenger). Mushrif A 3 Report post Posted April 21, 2011 Guys - Azizul established this new topic to track the withdrawal from service any aircraft from the existing MH fleet. So, lets keep it on topic and not deviate to what we want to see in the fleet, like some schoolboy's wet dreams or asking MH to buy 787, 748, A359 or whatever like buying fish from the wet market. So, keeping within the topic...we all now know that the leased 9M-MLC will got to FY, just like the earliuer MLA & MLB.

Waiping 12 Report post Posted April 21, 2011 I believe at least 2 B734 will leave the fleet in 2011, MQQ and another one, MM_ which at this moment I cannot recall. Is MQQ based in BKI? Then the new plane may also be based here?

Ashmil Abd Ghani 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2011 I follow this thread. I still don't have an ample time to record every MH fleet record. Will do 1 day. Keep this thread alive as far as could
JuliusWong 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2011 I can't find any thread that tracks ex Malaysia Airlines aircraft, and not to duplicate too many threads, can we include them in this thread? Here is the first one: VH-OED ex MAS B747-4H6 GE powered 9M-MHO, one of Qantas' three ugly sisters, is now being scrapped at VCV. It was one of the two B744s MH sold to Qantas during the 98 Asian Financial Crisis. VH-OEC is stored in VCV as well, its future looks bleak as well. Qantas is retiring its B744 progressively. Mushrif A 3 Report post Posted June 12, 2011 So, with 3 new A333s in the fleet, has any old A333 been withdrawn from service yet? I thought there is one MH A333 at SZB minus both engines. Packed to go elsewhere?
Mike P 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2011 With all these new aircraft coming in, that could be the reason why the profit and revenue are plunging down? Too much cost?
KC Sim 2 Report post Posted June 13, 2011 Great idea to have this thread!!! Thanks Mohd Azizul Ramli for this initiative ... now I wish we have a similar thread for the SIA fleet. Many of them have gone to all parts of the world ... Will any of the MH B744 be converted to B744BCF for MASkargo? KC Sim
Mohd Suhaimi Fariz 2 Report post Posted June 13, 2011 Will any of the MH B744 be converted to B744BCF for MASkargo? So far there are no plans as far as I know for the 744 to be converted into BCFs. The fleet of 2 744F and 4 A330-200F is currently enough.
