Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 Guys, Would like to share some shots I took recently at Cointrin, airport of Geneva, in 3 parts: - Airliners - Butt shots - Bizjets GVA is hosting some nice and interesting airlines, to be seen in the 1st part. The 2nd part is dedicated to Chaity, farther of the tail/butt shots here... The 3rd part will show all the bizzers that passed my lens in a 6 hours period, whether small or big Enjoy Bienvenue a Geneve, mesdames et messieurs... Only a few airlines are operating the Airbus A318, and here is one in the AF-dress: This 777 is usually used to better weatherconditions than here at GVA Had the pleasure of flying on this baby once before between DOH and SGN It was good to see a different 737 of Olympic this time at GVA, a Spanish registered one no less Do I have to say more ? Assigned this beauty myself to be in front of my lens the next day French sistership is operated by Cityjet, a 100% subsidiary of Air France, like cityhopper is to KLM Baboo is a Swiss airline based at GVA and founded by the former Crossair CEO, Mr. Suter; here a Dash8 in new colours: Dedicated to our MW-members of Turkey, Hakan & Ilgaz: This Avro-jet is still sporting the old colours, based on the one of SABENA Guess this airline Apart from TAP, this 'other' Portuguese airline operates to Aeroport Cointrin to be continued... Tamizi Hj Tamby 1 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 (edited) Photos impressionnantes de Genève, oncle Pieter(Awesome photos from Geneva,Uncle Pieter) But,the condition is bit 'nuageux' (cloudy), Do you agree,Uncle Pieter? Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 Qatar Airways? Correct, LeeTZ, they operate twice a day into GVA: 1x DOH-GVA-EWR and 1x EWR-GVA-DOH Photos impressionnantes de Genève, oncle Pieter(Awesome photos from Geneva,Uncle Pieter) But,the condition is bit 'nuageux' (cloudy), Do you agree,Uncle Pieter? Oui, Tamizi, et beaucoup de pluit avant de midi (Yes, Tamizi, and a lot of rain before noon)... Thanks a lot for the comments, guys, let's continue (and finish) with chapter 1, the airliners An interesting airline not seen at AMS, is Air Algerie: During the Euro2008, Swiss has added 'airline for all fans' titles to their aircraft: Apart from one Jumbolino in Zurich Airport Shopping livery, another one is operating in full Star Alliance colours: Darwin is a small Swiss regional airline and has nothing to do with the Australian city: Seen before in the AMS topic (after painting with QAPS), this E190 was now seen operating to Italy: Hamburg International was a surprise visitor to me, and livery looks very similar to Lufthansa, or is it German ? Baboo in old livery also passed my lens; which one do you prefer TK ? Blue Islands is a small carrier from the Channel Islands and hardly seen outside the UK: tomorrow, we continue with the butt shots: stay put ...
Yusoff 1 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 tomorrow, we continue with the butt shots: stay put ... Staying put here on my butt, uncle Pieter.. Nice pics despite the couldy day. Thanks for sharing
Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 Let's continue with the 1st part of the butt-shots Embraer E170; engines are quite close to the runway Bombardier Global Express; look at the wing-surfaces: General Dynamics Gulfstream 5; as big as the Dutch sister Fokker 70: Fokker 100; flapsetting zero during take-off: Bombardier Dash-8-400Q; like the exhausts this way Avro RJ-100 Ugly Duckling ; just have a good look at these flaps and under-carriage + doors to be continued (with part 2) soon... Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted May 31, 2008 Nice butt shot Uncle Pieter....... I LIKE (in thai slang........) Glad you enjoy them Here are some more Hawker really looks neat with these winglets and, the BD100 looks like this (no bad butt either) This was the biggest butt I photographed, VP-BHM: The Jungle-jet E-145 is sleak and has extremely short span (from this angle) Love the oval jetpipes of the Saab 2000 Talking about a small span; apparently not needed with these TNT-wings to be continued with bizjets... Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted June 2, 2008 OK, guys, let's finish with the last installment, the business-jets: Bombardier BD100 is the smaller variant of the Global Express: One of the most popular bizzers nowadays, is the Citation - here the Cessna 560 Citation: Talking about the Global Express, here she is in all her glory Another 'biggy' is the Gulfstream 5, or is this a G550 ? If you cannot afford the bigger Citation, there is also the smaller Citationjet: One of the most pretty business-jets IMHO are the ones made by Dassault in France; here the Falcon900 How about a RegionalJet as your private plane ? Many airlines use these with 50 seats... to be continued...
Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted June 2, 2008 Last instalment of the business-jets in this topic, guys: hope you enjoy the shots If Bombardier can build a Regional-size jet, so can competitor Embraer, as shown here with the Legacy: Dedicated to Gibby; do I have to say more about these sexy lines ? With a different nose and having additional fairings, the Citation-Excel is easy to recognize: The most beautiful livery seen on any bizzer that day, was this Lithuanian Hawker: Lacking one engine of the Falcon900 is this Falcon2000 of the same manufacturer Dassault: Even smaller than the smallest Citation(jet), is this Swearingen SJ30: How about this as a business-jet ? McDonnell-Douglas DC-8-62 (sorry was out of focus when passing at a better angle , so this is the best I can share ) What would you prefer ? This one or the Fokker 70 ? end of pictures/sharing... Peter Smith 1 Report post Posted July 17, 2008 Sorry Pieter, with so much work on i've been just grazing over topics...how I missed one this fantastic I do not know! Simply awesome stuff! VP-BNE is Gulfstream 550 (the way to tell is the 7th window). Love the Challenger, and i'm sorry, i'd prefer the G-V over the Fokker 70!
