Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted October 27, 2005 I think OK-TVC was the only one with blended winglets right ? At least, MAS is able to "track" the difference in fuel-consumption on the same routes now with -800's WITH and WITHOUT winglets; Transavia airlines overhere decided to install them on all their -800's, after tests with leased-in -800's from South African Airlines

Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted October 28, 2005 Picked up the Air-Berlin Winter Timetable this afternoon, and look what AB has to say about their 737-800 and A320 (their newest aircraft-type); I thought it would be interested as well for you guys: Boeing 737-800 versus Airbus A320 186 180 seats 76 tons 77 tons max. take-off weight 26035 liters 18728 liters tank volume (kerosene) 3080 liters ca.2500 liters consumption per hour 5449 km 5500 km range 840 km/h 830 km/h cruise-speed 2x 115kN 2x 120kN engine-thrust 39.50 m 37.57 m length 12.50 m 11.76 m height 35.80 m 34.10 m wingspan
Rozhan 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2005 From the comparision, it seems the A320 is less fuel thirsty.
Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted October 29, 2005 Exactly, Rozhan, that's why I put it up also: around 500 liters per hour seems quite a difference; do note, though, these are AB figures and not the ones "published" by Boeing and Airbus, resp.
Rozhan 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2005 Yes Pieter, the difference is considerable. I suppose figures from a real life operator is closer to reality than manufacturer's published figures.

Chaity 1 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 I was jogging around my area yesterday evening. At about 5:30PM, TVC flew past. I saw the winglets-lah and not the registration No. At about 5:50PM, LH A346 flew past and later joined by 2 MAS 744. That's my incentive for jogging, spotting airplanes at about 8,000km above. Radzi 2 Report post Posted November 13, 2005 spotting airplanes at about 8,000km above. 13634[/snapback] It must be the space shuttles, or some aliens from outer space. 8000 ft is more likely.
S V Choong 4 Report post Posted November 14, 2005 So where have OK-TVC and TVD been of late? I have seen OK-TVC at KLIA several times and TVD is just sitting at the remote stand near the satellite terminal. Seems like TVC is busy. Are they going to be joined by OK-TVE? If so, when will TVE arrive and will she carry a pair of winglets?
