TK 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 A ha... At long last i visited BKI. KIX-BKI MH 51 29th April 2008, 9M-MRK. Beautiful weather. i wish i was there for spotting. It was hot too. Finally, dual door operation at BKI. Not bad from inside.. I was at Bay 3. Bay 2.. Bay 2, just arrive from Lahad Datu My friend is the Captain of the flight..."top gun" was his nick name...or "tok geh" in kelantan slank. clean apron with no oil stain. Tower...old and new. With the new tower...all parking bay are not visible for taxing in nor push back... how la.. The old faithful... This is long final runway 20, coming from the north. Heavily crop, tough editing with neat image to reduce noise. Thanks for viewing guys, All photo taken with my old faithful Casio "Calculator" 8mp point and shoot camera. Have fun.. To BKI spotters...i will pay you guys a visit next month in May.

Isaac 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 Stunning pictures from you guys ! Isaac - how was the situation like inside T1 that morning ? With all the on going construction works and the whole gaggle of birds (can't recall when BKI has had to deal with three heavies at one go) at gate, facilities could possibly be a bit overburdened ? The first KE 744 already took off the moment my plane landed. I still remember there were 1x KE 744, 1x MH 772 (my flight), 1x KA 320, 1x MI 320, 2x MH 734. The old wing was pretty much deserted. Many shops had closed down. There is still one liquor store near the old Gate 6 with absolutely no air-conditioner. It was so hot there. Pity those who have to work there. The new terminal wasn't too crowded when i arrived, despite there were 6 planes at the gate. Hello Isaac I am using a Canon 40D together with a Canon telephoto zoom lens 28-135mm IS USM and a Tamron 18-200mm without VC - vibration compensation. Software is Adobe Photoshop Elements 6. You can always view a picture's data by using this software called FastStone Image Viewer. Google in the net for free version. Must get Canon next time !! Are you Korean ? leejauhi 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 Exploring sceneries from this station's point of view, for a change. Road leading to Golden Hill Garden where the station on the hill is located. Station barely visible in between. Hill trekking begins on the right where the jogger is. Station viewed from the bushes. Close up view of station. Try to visualize the distance between the station on the left and the T2 on the right. Pananomic view of T2. Aircraft at their respective parking bays. To be continued.... leejauhi 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 continuing.......... Taxiing to parking bay. Exiting active runway. Two MH B734s, one on ground and another getting airborne. Silk Air flies away. Horse race course adjacent to rwy 20. Horses gazing..... ..while the footballers enjoy their game. Another spotting area. A vintage place to spot especially for those with long lenses...but not me.... Sun setting over T2 It means time to pack and leave. That's all for now. Thanks for viewing. LeeJH Lee, i think i saw you once when you spotting. around January or February. still remember that day after we all (Meor, Eric Dragon, Desmond, and Kenneth) just finish spotting from beach 3 there. it should be you, holding a Canon dSLR stand on top of the "rock-hill" next to the bus stop with a few children on the hill, if not mistaken should be a family over there. but that time we didn't stop and approach you. Samuel You are absolutely right. " Rock hill " is now long gone. That is why I need to do some scouting around, abeit the insecurity feelings. Will pose some pics of that scene later. Thanks.
