Andi C 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 MH T7 at new KKIA terminal. Really love this shot! If you could get nearer & 'poke' your lens through the fence, the 'outcome' would have been much more awesome

leejauhi 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2008 Hi MWingers Thank you for the comments. I am sharing some pics in response to some members' curiosity. In the overall 30 pics ( 20 more to continue ), the essential message is about where to go for plane spotting and also security concern in and around Kota Kinabalu International Airport. This is by no means a guide and/or authority for BKI spotters. I do it at my own risk and will not be in anyway responsible for your welbeing. Once too often I have been approached by MAB security personnel (MSP). In one occasion, it went like this: MSP : Encik, apa awak buat di sini? ( Sir, what are you doing here? ) Lee : Ambil gambar. ( Taking pictures. ) MSP : Untuk suratkhabar? ( For newspapers? ) Lee : Tidak, untuk sendiri. Hobi saja. ( No, for my own self. Just a hobby. ) Then they just left the scene. I was not asked to leave the area which was somewhere in the middle of the long wooden fence. Overall they are pleasant and polite, never threatening or abusive. Syabas MAB continue..... to be continued...................

leejauhi 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2008 continue.... That's all folks. Enjoy. I intentionally did not crop too much of the pics as I want viewers to have an overall picture of its surrounding, keeping them in perspective. Next assigment MAYBE on aircraft movements both on T1 and T2. In my first post, some of the pictures were shot from the nearby MAS Cargo / Engineering Complexes. Access is via the cargo canteen with the rundown basketball court nearby. Park your car here and proceed straight in but watch out for moving heavy vehicles. Another shot of the T7 was taken very near the MAS Administrative Building ( not from inside ), after getting permission from the security guard. The place allocated to shoot was tight with not much room for me to scout for shooting angles. Better than nothing!!!. Last but not least a special THANK YOU to Ignatius for the "saturation" alertness. Still trying to figure out. Regards. Lee JH

kianhong 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2008 Ahh... LeeJH. Jalan manyak jauh huh? That spot brought back some fond memories of my first ever spotting at BKI. leejauhi 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2008 Hey there leejauhi ! May i know what kind of camera are you using ? The pictures quality are superb ! Hello Isaac I am using a Canon 40D together with a Canon telephoto zoom lens 28-135mm IS USM and a Tamron 18-200mm without VC - vibration compensation. Software is Adobe Photoshop Elements 6. You can always view a picture's data by using this software called FastStone Image Viewer. Google in the net for free version. After installation, go to FStone icon and open up your file to select a picture. Double click that picture and drag your mouse to an empty space towards the right-hand side. The picture data will display. N0 secret here. LeeJH Terima kasih banyak2, Lee !!! Some really excellent spotting points now at BKI airport No need for Jln Selangor at this stage... Will MAB be as friendly towards 'orang putih' as to you ? Looking forward to some spotting/photography session(s) @ KK airport in June Pieter C In the months to come, the airport enviroment will definitely change. MAB security personnel are lonely people manning their posts. I think they welcome a conversation or two. All the best to all. LeeJH
