Samuel Chy 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2008 If you mean those pictures with planes rotating from rwy 02, I took them from a " temporary observation hill " located along Jln Kepayan further down opposite the Airport View Hotel. There is a tree providing shade. Try to visualise the front scenery of T2 and you will be alright. However, for me, it's too far to get a good shot. will try the spot out this weekend. another two from sat spotting session

Samuel Dug out some old pics re " Observation Hill " Standing from the OB and turn right, you will see this Jln Kepayan leading towards to the horse race course. Same area but landscape changed now as pic taken quite sometime ago. Looking towards rwy 02 from OB The actual OB but slight lower now due to soil erosion. Just remember the location is slightly after the Airport View Hotel and you will see some demolised concrete houses remaining. Track going in is muddy. Chan CS 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2008 Thanks for sharing everything, Lee, be it the photos and tips on the OH. Hope it will be there long enough! Hehe... Anyway, for your info, AK B737 is 300 series, not 400 series, so it should be 733. 734 are those of MH.

leejauhi 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 continuing...last part..... DHC6 climbs away. ...and farther away. Been up to area circled. Accessible from road between Golden Hill Garden and Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Gives very clear pananomic view of whole KKIA landscape. To avoid double fencing obstacles, just proceed further down the fence parameter and face with one fence obstacle. View of Mt Kinabalu with new control tower at various angles... ..ditto... Mt Kinabalu's peak shrouded with clouds. Waited for clouds to disperse but to no avail. just no luck..... Last shot before giving up... NB. A lot of the shots were taken with severe harsh sunlight, especially those of BI A319s'. Just can't help it due to its operational schedule. Thanks for viewing.. LeeJH Walau Bro... your post now is as fast as your 40D clicks clicks clicks hahaha Ignatius, Canon 40D allows 6.5 frames per second ( fps ). So just trigger happy.
