Tony 1 Report post Posted October 24, 2006 As promised, pics from ATC field trip... Arrived 45 minutes before the tour starts, so I walked over to the mount and started "shooting" randomly. Hazy hazy hazy. The ground started to warm up, so my shots were mostly blurry due to convection. RAAF BBJ - preparing for Richmond Air Show, I believe. UA and MH at gates. Wunala Dreaming at gate. Resocha taking off 34L. Air Doctor. More to come... Sorry for the poor quality.
Raj 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2006 Nice set of shots Tony.. I like the 2 shots of Resocha..
Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted October 24, 2006 Sorry for the poor quality. Great pictures; the quality is not bad at all, figuring the heat-waves: at least it shows the nice weather there (as opposed to here - see my LIS shots ) Hope you'll be able to shoot 'Orange' shortly, while she's visiting SYD More, please... Kevin Teh 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2006 TOny, nice picture. I suppose the heat waves are caused by long zoom? how many mm u used? but i do heard from my friend at SYD that is really hot over there
Tony 1 Report post Posted October 24, 2006 Great pictures; the quality is not bad at all, figuring the heat-waves: at least it shows the nice weather there (as opposed to here - see my LIS shots ) Hope you'll be able to shoot 'Orange' shortly, while she's visiting SYD More, please... Weather's not too good anyway - you'll see why in later shots as the stormclouds rolled in and there was a major downpour at the end of the day. (and I was wet!) <_> Will try my best to visit Orange. TOny, nice picture. I suppose the heat waves are caused by long zoom? how many mm u used? but i do heard from my friend at SYD that is really hot over there EXIF says 72mm, but taking the 1.6 factor (I believe that's the right figure) into account, final f-number should be around 115. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Sydney should be hot, but the weather has been winterly for the past 2 days (which is really annoying given I've stored my thick clothes away ). But yeah, it could get VERY hot!
Tony 1 Report post Posted October 24, 2006 (edited) Ok, here we go again. Bear with the not-so-good quality until I upgrade to a DSLR (funding...). God knows when Canadair Challenger (owned by Avwest?). This rego had been used on 4 different aircraft so far. Previously used on a Lear60 owned by Sydney Jet Charter; as Beech 400A and Lear35A owned by Flight Charter Services. Then a load roar distracted me - turned my head and saw a DJ climbing out 34R departure. Second RAAF biz jet for the day Dash 8 Bruuunay Another 34R departure over the top More more more... Please correct me if I'm wrong. -snip--snip Tony, if you used your FZ5... the crop factor is 6x to the 35mm format. Si if its 72mm... should be 432mm equivalent.. Tony 1 Report post Posted October 31, 2006 (edited) Slight delay, but as promised... Took a lift to where the BEER CANS are - and we realised the cheaper way of having airconditioning in lifts! From the BEER CAN level, overlooking 34R. RAAF biz jets getting ready for Richmond AirShow (next day) What's this? Localiser? QF's 744 tracking down Taxiway Alpha for 34L departure. What's used for firefighting training. Busy 34R CLIMB~ ARFF building More to come... Edited October 31, 2006 by Tony

Tony 1 Report post Posted November 1, 2006 Qantas rolling for 34L departure NZ 763 landed on 34R Then taxi to gate... DJ: Hi Kiwi... NZ: Hi Virgin... Ski-plane that should be heading to Antartica?? This is the ground movement radar. Apron movement has been filtered. And from the tower, we saw MH122 being pushed back And the details... The yellow blib with timestamp 0:007 is MH122 Starting up the engines, I believe Then we left the "room" and proceeded to an area near where the beer cans are (but can't say exactly where cuz we're not supposed to be there - although allowed by the supervisor)... Look at the cloud formation MH122 READY...
