Chaity 1 Report post Posted August 16, 2006 This picture to depict the clear sky... just ignore any subject in the foreground When it is raining in KLIA, I will wait for the rain to stop. After that, the dust/haze in the sky will be less and have nice sky like in Norman's photo. Subject in the foreground, where ?

Regarding the windsock... are you serious?? and Guys... the MasKargo a few second before Jon's pix is this one Sorry about the disturbing AK there, but we saw the big puff of smoke and then.. "THUMP!!"... like a faint thunder could be heard... either the 742 did a very hard landing ... or.. a cargo pellet inside toppled Continuing from Jon's VMY2007 sticker... We saw this one on Malaysia One coming back almost 2 hours late from Heathrow... the ever tightening security checks Close-up of the "eye-browless"... As compared to who has not shave them off... and my version of 'TK' the one that supposed to retire from the fleet... Mahathir M. S. 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2006 (edited) Greeting all MW'ers. This is not my first post tho. Btw all the photos posted here are really awesome and i really can't wait for my next home leave and pay a visit to this heavenly place for a/c spotters. Few questions , how am i going to get to this place? Can i drive all the way up to the hill or i've to park the car somewhere else and walk all the way up to the hill. What are the odds being chase by MAB security? What is minimum focal length reqd for lense to get full aircraft shot (i.e 737). Is it safe enough to spot at this place alone. Mayb a map would help me a lot. I know there is one pinned thread shows the map off all spotting location in WMKK but the infos/directions more towards spotting at runaway 14R and 32L which i understood still close at the moment, no? I'll be on leave from 22nd August to 10th Sept so if you guys happened to spot within this date plse PM me ya. Thank you in advanced and personally this website rawks. Thanks for Capt. Radzi for telling me the existence of this cool website. Edited August 16, 2006 by Mahathir M. S.
Norman 1 Report post Posted August 16, 2006 Hi Mahathir... welcome to MW.. If you're looking for places for spotting as in this thread (14L) then it'll be around the lake, the Obs Hill (both for morning session) and the palm oil plantation abeam 14L touchdown... For Obs Hill... not advisable to drive up your car, which might attract attention of the MAB security. Leave the car downhill and walk/climb up. Yes... if they spot you ... they'll ask you to leave or worst... red-carpet in the police station. the Lake is beside the highway, after the second bridge from F1 towards KL. The touchdown zone shots... need to drive up into the plantation If your car still new with shiny paint... leave it and climb up for a 100-150m walk Scratches from thorny oilpalm leaves not worth it.. Lens ... focal length around 200-400 will do for fullbody shot of 737 14L/32R will remain open until end of the year.... Maybe you meant 14R/32L... which is still closed for upgrading works.. Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted August 16, 2006 Regarding the windsock... are you serious?? The Golden Showered Thai ... YES, Norman, serious as ALWAYS windy overhere (that's why it's difficult to make 'clear' shots here ) Love this old-coloured Tripple: sweet memories of a KUL-BKK flight Mahathir, Welcome to MW: you'll enjoy it here, no doubt
