MAS New Boeing 737-800s with Sky Interior

Recommended Posts

Sky Interior will only feature on MAS Boeing 737-800 with 9M-MX... 9M-ML...are leased so no chance of the 9M-ML registered aircraft having sky interior.

How sure are u? What if the lessor receives from Boeing a new 738 with the Sky Interior?

Really hope with all this talk about being premium, they will revamp the seats.. They are just too tight and horrible..

If they just take 1 row out, it will make all the difference. The pitch will increase to 32", which is comfortable for the majority of passengers.

I'm wondering how complicated it is to "remove' or 'add' rows of seats ?

Because not just where one parks one's posterior, but you also have those lights and emergency masks in overhead panel. Also those markers that indicate your seat number

But I guess airlines do it often anyway, cannot be impossible :)

Besides 1 row of seat, they will also need to remove the closets at the back of the aircraft to make 32" of seat pitch in Y possible.

Yea, that's right.. Air Asia X did it.. Just need to spend some money.. Will be better spent than sponsoring a largely unknown football club..

Unknown in Malaysia but in London/UK?

I'm not in the UK so I can't tell.. but my UK friends don't seem to be big fans of QPR also..

Anyway, if MH has lots of money, that will be a different story, but they don't. Their products and services are just getting more and more disappointing by the day.. Sure got small improvements here and there but others are leaping forward..

They should spend wisely with whatever they have..sports publicity is good but get the products and services right first.. Their new 737-800 has the worst leg room I ever experienced in FSC..worse than Garuda's which should be an embarassment to all Malaysians..

anyone knows if the 9M-MX* series are operating the KUL-BKK flights? :pardon:

Taken from flight data 24. They actually do but it's not so consistent although it has been the MX series lately.

oh thanks Tang, been hesitating if I should take MH or TG for my business trip to BKK by the end of the month

I'd take TG anyday. No chance of getting stuck in the old 734, meals served in a proper tray and IFE is definitely available.

had the chance to experience the MX series recently...really an upgrade from the old 734...the service had improved as well i believe....well done MH

Legroom is terrible though. Hope they will finally come to their senses and remove some rows of seats in Y.

Just been on the sky interior plane yesterday on MH 2640. Yeap, it is an impressive upgrade from the classics 400 series; but the seat pitch is terrible...not advice to take this for any routes above 3 hours...

I guess MH already taken proactive measure - by axing BKI-HND, BKI-KIX and BKI-ICN vv

Quick update :

9M-MLM 39323/3885 delivery planned for 12 Jan. First flight was yesterday as BOE091. This is a Babcock & Brown leased one, although it's an 8H6 and not an 8FZ like the others.

9M-MXG is currently overnighting at HNL flying as MAS5473.
