MAS New 15 A330-300X + 4 A330-200 Freighter

MAS was the largest airline in SEA during the 90s flying to every continent. Those were the glory days. Now it's nothing but a shell of itself. I still think CM managed to completely screw up MAS so that it is effectively eliminated from the Kangaroo route. Again, their North-South connection strategy is flawed. Multiple Chinese carriers are flying directly point to point and even CX is now feeling the strain. How is MH going to get a share with such cut throat competition in a market which has loss faith in MH after the disappearance of MH370, and worse, the shoddy mismanagement of that disaster? I think his move to EK was either badly timed or very suspicious. I think the latter is more likely. I'm really struggling to get to terms of the years of mismanagement and abuse of a wonderful airline with highly prized pilots and crew. I think I should just hoping cos it ain't gonna happen now. Sometimes I feel we should just wrap up this operation like Sabrina and Swissair and start again. -

Absolutely SV Choong, that was my dream so many years ago. Imagine, once or twice weekly flights to some exotic destination like Honolulu or Zagreb, nice hotels, etc etc. Now with Emirates' multiple daily flights to many second tier cities, I'm not surprised if you fly in a 77W in the morning and are expected to fly out on the evening one! (Tongue firmly in cheek, but I'm sure I'm not too far off!) -

I remember when HNL wasn't a tech stop... That was in the early 90s -
Maybe they need a smaller aircraft instead of a 72 seater ... ATR42 for example? Or even going back to Dornier or twin otters

I have a bad feeling that Mueller screwed us. I think that he effectively wiped MH off the kangaroo route, taking one of the main players (in the past) out of the competition. Then made MH signed up a codeshare deal (and cancelling their codeshare deals with other airlines which used MH feed for their services).. Effectively this reduced significantly KUL's role as a major transit hub. The part about concentrating on the North Asia to Australia sector is also potentially a disastrous move. Many major carriers from China, Korea, Japan and Taiwan are now flying direct to Australia. Why would anyone want to fly with MH now, even if it's cheaper. The worst thing of all is the after implementing this, Mueller buggers off to Emirates!! That is really suspicious

Azizul has tentacles in every corner! Great stuff! Keep the info coming

I don't think KUL has been too overlooked in terms of major airlines. BA has come back with a 789, KLM has increased flights to 10 weekly, CI has upgraded and up gauged KUL, NH is starting a HND flight. It's not so bad. We took a hit with the MH twin disasters and 1MDB scandal ... It will get better
-
MH33 may have been from Hong Kong or Seoul?
-
Bloody hell. KUL is being whacked left right and centre. We don't even get Philippine airlines, Air India, jetstar, Asiana and Qantas... I think KUL is pretty underrated. Looks like Malaysia has taken huge beatings following MH's twin disasters in 2014 and now the 1MDB scandal. Other neighbouring countries are benefiting from this and really driving the screw in for Malaysia

I think that CM made a big mistake cutting of its European feed. He wants to tap into the North Asia to Australasia market... That is not a great move. Look at how many Chinese airlines adding routes and capacity to Australia. Why should the pax fly MH when their own airlines fly non stop? And now they are cancelling their codeshares with other airlines to concentrate on EK? Another bad move. Something EK will gain from but not MH. The repercussions are starting to ripple through. For example, look at air Mauritius... KUL was their important hub in the region (even over Singapore). Now Changi has wooed them with money so they are flying non stop to SIN so that they can connect with other services. KUL is now a one stop service when it was their main connection point in south east Asia -
MAB to Operate Some Leisure Flights from KLIA2/LCCT2 Beginning 2017
Izanee replied to V Wong's topic in General Aviation
KUL has potential but MAHB is trying its best to screw things up. I still cannot believe you have to pay RM2 to get a train from KLIA2 to MTB. This is beyond a joke. How are they expecting KUL to grow if they are screwing up transit passengers like that. The mentality is so poor. This is why you can't have government appointees (with no experience in a particular field) heading these companies. Lingkup lah like dat -

If you live in Birmingham you can take Emirates direct from BHX! No need to come to London. I suspect there is still a group of die hard MAS passengers who prefer a non stop service and will travel all the way to London for it. -

Cabin Crew on Helping Customer with Cabin Luggage: Yay or Nay?
Izanee replied to Mike P's topic in General Aviation
Guys, no personal attacks please. Again, i agree that the l cabin crew have no obligation to help passengers put away overhead luggage. However, as mentioned above, at the check in desk or at the boarding gate, someone can pull aside passengers with large hand luggage and offer to stow it in the cargo hold. That is done routinely here in the UK.
