Clearly, the BKI market is not prepared to pay MI prices for MI service/perks.Not good news. Poor service, cramped seats, loss is spend/earn for krisflyer points and all round poor service.

nevertheless, yes.
anyway, earlier this year when i searching ticket for the Airshow, found that on normal day can get around RM500/sector. and found that there're getting more locals here start to accept MI recently.
i've just make a fast dummy booking for 04-07dec BKI-SINvv. return ticket only RM631.00. while AK return ticket (lowest available) is RM340 (gross) on the same date.

MI is SQ's regional feeder, so if anyone is going to board MI, chances are their final destination is not SIN but elsewhere on SQ long haul network.
If we look at MI's history, we can see that its original purpose (a packaged tour airline) is no longer relevant as LCCs are not serving that market sector.
As a regional feeder airline, its product is poor compared to SQs. Since the SQ Group already has Scoot in the LCC sector, it is a no brainer to merge MI with the mainline to have better product consistency. In many ways, SQ will now be going back to its original 1972 roots after the merger.
