Mohd Azizul Ramli 2 Report post Posted April 18, 2011 MH's numbers are from their presentation slide. So it could be a calculation mistake on MH's part, or 2 seats reserved for crews not being included in the mentioned configuration.

Mohd Azizul Ramli 2 Report post Posted May 11, 2011 EK just announced that they'll be sending the A380 to Johannesburg, South Africa beginning 1 October 2011. With this service, JNB will be serviced by 3 A380 operators - LH, AF and EK.
Mohd Azizul Ramli 2 Report post Posted May 19, 2011 Changi is going to receive its 3rd A380 operator come 30 October 2011. LH will start a daily service FRA-SIN vv on the superjumbo, but the current tag-on SIN-CGK vv will be switched from FRA to MUC instead.
Mohd Azizul Ramli 2 Report post Posted May 20, 2011 Oh so you know the actual number! My earlier prediction of 88J seats on the upper deck was made based on some simple calculation plus the number '88' itself, which I think would bring so much luck to an airline with thick superstitious belief like SQ. Since you mentioned that I am almost right, I am inclined to believe that the number is lower due to the fact that SQ may be wanting to become the A380 operator with the least dense seating configuration too, lesser than 407 seats on KE. SQ needs to only reduce 4J seats from my earlier prediction of 88J seats to match the total seat count of KE A380s. Rumours from the Golden Goose HQ across the Straits of Johor has confirmed that the seat number for SQ's all J upper deck A380 will be 86 seats. Now further confirmed by Jim http://airlineroute.net/2011/05/20/sq-a8e-s11/ SQ gets rid of 88 Economy Class seats in exchange for 26 Business Class seats on its new A380 upper deck cabin. With the new total configuration of 409 seats, SQ is second behind KE for having the least seats on the A380. Therefore here is the updated seat configuration of all current and future A380 operators as at 20 May 2011: SQ - 12R, 60J, 399Y = 471 seats (9V-SKA - 9V-SKK) SQ - 12R, 86J, 311Y = 409 seats (9V-SKL and subsequent A380s) EK - 14F, 76J, 399Y = 489 seats 'Ultra Long Range' EK - 14F, 76J, 427Y = 517 seats 'Long Range' (A6-EDG, ...) QF - 14F, 72J, 32Y+, 332Y = 450 seats AF - 9F, 80J, 449Y = 538 seats AF - 9F, 80J, 38Y+, 389Y = 516 seats LH - 8F, 98J, 420Y = 526 seats KE - 12F, 94J, 301Y = 407 seats MH - 8F, 54J, 26Y+, 420Y = 510 seats (difference of 2 seats, calculation mistake?) QR - xF, xJ, xY = 517 seats CZ - 8F, 70J, 428Y = 506 seats TG - 12F, 60J, 435Y = 507 seats
Mohd Azizul Ramli 2 Report post Posted May 23, 2011 MUC will be the next new airport that will be receiving its first A380 schedule flight. EK will be the first A380 operator into Franz Josef Strauss beginning 1 January 2012. From January 1, 2012, the airline's morning service to Munich will be upgraded to an A380 superjumbo, departing Dubai at 0910hrs and gets into Munich at 1245hrs, one of two daily flights. Will spend another few weeks doing testing before delivery. A380 production may well be in first phase of full swing operation. Note that MH and KA will get all their A380s in a space of 12 months. That will add a lot of capacity to both airlines.

Its in Hamburg. So the interior is done. For next few days they will be testing the IFE, electronic system etc. Strange, they should have send it over to Le Bourget: Two Asian A380s against one B747-8i.... Er...sorry typo. Azman MN 1 Report post Posted July 20, 2011 (edited) On board 9V-SKL, SQ221 SIN-SYD, 10 July 2011: Notice the new headrest - stops me from having a neckache if I fall asleep while sitting up... Also the air-bag belt, like 77W. The rear cabin... the final row of seats are slightly more separated from the ones in front because of the position of the rear exit. Notice it has the higher screens just like the seats in the first row. Reason they are higher... bassinets! Edited July 20, 2011 by Azman MN

Johan Z 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2011 I guess 2-2-2 arrangement is good for couples than 1-2-1, where couples can only choose to sit in the middle. QF, KE and LH also have the same arrangement.
