kianhong 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2008 Sucky weather today so went to over to our next door neighbour to check things out. An EC 145 demonstrator for Police Air Wing. Eurocopter EC 145 is much improved version of the current BKK 117 used by Police Air Wing. Glass cockpit, more spacious, larger window for increase visibility etc. Funky nose houses the weather radar. Simplified cockpit environment with glass cockpit compared to the BKK 117 in the following photo. Backside view. Even our instructors were fascinated by this white beauty. Ready for departure to helicopter training area. Enjoy! Thanks for viewing.
MIR 2 Report post Posted May 22, 2008 Nice catch Kian Hong!! The chopper juz arrived at Heli Aus last 2days. Brand new helicopter, registered 12 May. It will be in Perth for only 2 months before heading up north. Wow !! More room in the new heli compared to the police's Kawasaki BKK 117..
Ignatius 4 Report post Posted May 22, 2008 Awesome Kian Hong, you are so close when it took off, did you get blown away? hehe.. I hope you wont be meeting any of these when on cruising down the freeway haha..
kianhong 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2008 MIR- Confirmed! There's one show-room conditioned Fougas CM.170 Magister sitting inside the FCI hangar. Look awesome with the V-tail and the 2 tiny turbojets. Checked CASA register, found 2 off this type and both are based in Jandakot. Not sure where is the other (VH-ATG) is hiding though. Hope to catch it flying in good light. Iggy - Not that close lah ... across the taxiway only. With 300mm zoom, everything look close. Liam - What happened to your flight in July??? Why equipment changed? Not sure where to put these photos, hope it's alright to put them here since it's about JDK. Took these while back-seating a nav flight to Bunbury. Overview of Jandakot Airport - busiest airport in Australia in terms of aircraft movements. Overfly Runway 06L. A China Southern Grob was seen ready for 06L departure while 3 aircraft (From left, C152, C172 & Grob) were in the engine run-up bay. Enjoy! Thanks for viewing. Rare stuff, approx. 300 built. Fuji FA-200-160 Aero Subaru Look like a C180/C170? It's a modified Cessna C150! Check out the position of the main wheels and the riveted patch further down. Norman 1 Report post Posted June 28, 2008 Waaa.... Nice Texan... lucky guy in backseat.. And the 150... any reason they modified it to a taildragger?
kianhong 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2008 And the 150... any reason they modified it to a taildragger? I have no idea ... sorry. I was fooled initially thinking it's a C180, but the airframe just look a bit small.
