kianhong 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2008 Interesting traffic there @ Jandakot !!! You, guys, wouldn't mind showing Mai & me around in June next year, would you ? Would love to show you around, uncle Pieter. But I'm afraid I won't be here anymore as my training is scheduled to finish around Feb next year. Perhaps other MWings members in Perth can help. kianhong 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2008 (edited) Since yesterday, Jandakot was buzzing with excitement as all the Red Bull Air Race team busy preparing their aircrafts for trail run and practices. :yahoo: I present to you : Red Bull Air Race Pre-race Preview That's Kirby working on his aircraft. Mike Goulian's green goblin. Mike Mangold taxiing back to hangar after a practice run. Oh yeah, cowling, wing tips are carbon fire. Nice! A sneak peek into Mike Mangold cockpit, even the instruments panel made of carbon fibre. Inside FCI hangar. Nigel's Breitling. Most striking color scheme if not the best looking. Love it! The T is hidden in front of the canopy. Mr. Nigel Lamb with all his 'fans'. Enjoy. Thanks for viewing. Edited October 26, 2008 by kianhong

kianhong 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2008 Thanks, MIR, uncle Pieter and Iggy! Iggy - Have some but taken very far away. No good. Plan to go again tomorrow and hope to see them take off at a closer distance. Beside the Red Bull aircrafts, not forget these warbirds - RED DRAGON. Specially dedicated these to uncle Pieter. Must try these funky birds when you come to Perth next year. RED DRAGON North America T-28 Trojan Wright R-1820-86 Cyclone radial engine Classic Wings DC-3 was out too for a one hour scenic flight. Caught this odd ball as well - Rutan VariEZ. Incredible fuel eficient aircraft - 19L/hr, capable of flying approx. 1000km with just 95L fuel. Enjoy and thanks for viewing. kianhong 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 Woooo.. nice in person shots there Kian.. I believe there are more than one Rutan there at ypjt rite?... Seen an allwhite refueled with the nose gear retracted hahaha Yup ... in fact, there is more than two different Rutan I saw in Jandakot. Could be visitor from other places as they are known to have a very good range for such small aircraft. Here's one Rutan LongEZ that I caught many moon ago, YPJT resident. Behind it, partially inside the hangar is Lancair IV, can cruise up to 240kts. Waaaa.... damn nice... You sure cant wait to fly those Hong Hong ekkekeke Oh yeah ... these LJ45 look so fine. hmm....maybe hong hong should bring me INSIDE to catch some of those Sure, come to fly in one of the Nanchangs or the Extra 300L, I'll bring u air-side spotting. Cephas 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2008 One question Kian Hong, does the LJ45 had passenger seats most of the time or is it only the 2 pilot seats and an observer seat?
kianhong 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2008 One question Kian Hong, does the LJ45 had passenger seats most of the time or is it only the 2 pilot seats and an observer seat? Ehh ... if I remembered correctly, there're the pilot seats, an observer seat immediately behind, 6 pax seat (first 4 in club config) and a small lavatory. Sandeep G 1 Report post Posted November 19, 2008 All four SFC LJ45 aircraft are uniquely equipped with an observers seat immediately behind the pilot seats adjacent the door that is infact identical to the pilot chairs. There is a workstation at this point with a full Audio Control Panel (ACP) to operate the COMM frequencies and Identify NAVAIDS. This installation cost much in the way of certification!! There are 6 passenger seats as KianHong mentioned and a lavatory that is NOT to be used (despite being serviceable) - no one to clean up
