Vivek 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2010 Hey - just a quick note guys. I would be visiting Singapore (again!) next month. This time it is a family holiday I will be arriving on May 16th, and leaving on May 20th. I am planning to do a couple of hours of spotting on atleast one of the days that I am there. I have done the Crowne Plaza & CBP locations last time, so any pointers on what I can do this time? Also, which runway direction is mainly used for landing in May? In Jan/Feb, landings were mainly on Rway 02L. I would also love to catch up with SIN spotters during that time. Lemme know if anyone is around. - Vivek

Lion Air decided to send in PK-LFF with its stunning Dreamliner livery as the afternoon flight from Ho Chi Minh City en route to Jakarta. Go Roos! VH-VQH from Bangkok. Many thanks to Liam for the heads-up It was a pleasant surprise to discover that Etihad had retained the same timings as their winter schedule for the summer, which means that it is scheduled to arrive at 1830hrs. Hoe Jyh 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2010 16 May 2010 Cathay Pacific sent in One World B77W B-KPL as CX717 today. After months of chasing this elusive Bo Rocks 9M-AFD, our patience was finally rewarded as she came in great light as AK703. FedEx M11F N608FE on final approach to 02L after an early afternoon test flight. Always nice to see PR sending in their larger aircraft into Changi again, such as this A343 RP-C3430 Emirates seem to have an unsatiable hunger for 77Ws! After running out of the -EBx series, they had turned to the -ECx series which had also ran out and registered their newest 77W yet as A6-EGA when it was delivered to the carrier on 14/4/2010. Cheers!
Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted May 16, 2010 Love your sunny and crystal-clear pictures, Hoe Jyh !!! So, still 02 in use ?
Hoe Jyh 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2010 Thanks Pieter! I was lucky that the sun shone through for once when these subjects arrived; the weather was horrible for the past week! Yes, surprisingly 02 is still very much in use despite the fact that it is now mid-May. However, the runway direction now often switches between 02 and 20 depending on the wind direction and the mood of those in the control tower.

Sandeep G 1 Report post Posted June 3, 2010 Yeah I thought you'd be the one to have caught it in the beautiful light of yesterday afternoon. We were on EP behind a MASquito ATR holding for 20C when this beauty came in, panties down and all.. I must admit, the all white livery is quite stunning. KC Sim 2 Report post Posted June 4, 2010 What a beautifully glorious morning we had today ... the sun was shining brilliantly - so beautifully that even a SilkAir A320 would have looked nice. But the great heavens had other plans for us. First to come along was Biman Bangladesh Airlines' A310-300 S2-AFT in its lovely new colours. And then its South Asian neighbour decided it had to also show off something ... and a Kingfisher A330-200 appeared. Since its launch to Singapore about a year ago, I have never photographed it landing in good light. Its landing was always just minutes ahead of the sunrise ... but today, it was nicely delayed. Then came the star of the day for me. Thanks to Jim and Hoe Jyh, I was on the look-out for Cargoitalia's MD-11F which was arriving from Paya Lebar Airport and transiting Changi Airport enroute to Shannon. It was on delivery to its owner - a leasing company - before ending up in Italy. Love this!!! Thanks Hoe Jyh and thanks Uncle Jim. And would you believe it if I told you that we also had a bi-plane? And we sure did, in the form of N5UU - a Global Express of Prestige Jet. It has got fire in its belly - actually, it has got a Spitfire on its belly. And to round off the wonderful morning, we had Thai's B777-300ER HS-TKH. By this time, the sun is pretty high. Khob khun mak krub Khun Prompong for the information you provide.
