Kevin Teh 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2006 Got RWY changed? Oh, Emperor, no worry la, you have got it once already la. Give you cups of Beer, ok? yes sneeze, initially landing 14L departing 14R... so the EVA landed at 14L then runway changed to 32R departure, 32L landing..... and the eva leave at 32R they should have actually changed it long time back due to the strong tail wind.... sweating when seeing Malaysian 4 rotate at the end of the runway blowing up dust... TK 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2006 Runway change...its okay Jonathan, Next month, we well have 14L/32R ONLY for the month. Just got the AIP about runway 14R/32L closure, so enjoy while you can at the weather station. Hmmm...last minute duty change, i was unable to join any of you guys there. I am so sorry to Pieter as i couldnt make even a few minutes for you in Malaysia. Duty calls me to do Shanghai on Friday morning, and return with delayed arrival on Sarurday evening. Sunday was too tired for me, even for lunch!! and by night, KUL-FRA was my next take off. As i am writing now, comfortably in my room watching 10men Italy vs OZ. Didnt bring my camera for this Frankfurt trip, i rather brought along my laptop to get some updates from mwings.... even i am away from KUL, mwings is always in my mind. I guess all of you had a wonderful day during the weekend, so am i on duty. what mwings has brought to all enthusiasts out there is to keep the aviation world alive in Malaysia and abroad. thank you mwings for such great members, photos, news, logbooks, models and aircraft out there. Norman 1 Report post Posted June 27, 2006 Yes... Emperor was really frustrated when change in runway took effect In fact all of us felt the sorrow when EVA Cargo MD 11 turned the other way Well... what to do... there were some scary moments when wind from the north blows along the runway... in fact one has to abort landing... Yup .... light was bad... weather was bad... just look at this SQ flying into... But the team kept on shooting.... after "pep talk" by the "head coach"... Low light meant, slower shutter speed, so can practice those panning.. more later...

Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted June 27, 2006 Pieter, Are you due to balik kampung to Penampang anytime soon ? I'm sure the other local chaps would relish the chance to meet up with a MyWings icon too ! BC, Another trip to SE-Asia (and AU/NZ) has been planned for Dec06-Jan07, so might 'detour' a little and include BKI on the next visit: will keep you all informed, don't you worry
Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted June 27, 2006 Yes, did uncle Pieter get the chance to meet with those funky girls? Nope, however, did receive a call from funky Lily She had to work unfortunately Wow..look at those clouds!! Good for me, as would not have stand another 30+ bright sunshine day and it was a british weather. darn! More like Dutch weather to me, with all these wind gusts: couldn't believe they kept landing on 14L, despite the 25knots tailwind Good for VN to abort the landing and, finally, made it to 32L
Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted June 27, 2006 funky lily was back safely from bintulu to the delight of our dear pieter. Too bad, she had to do another BKK return flight after this one pieter. he was finally at 32L at last......... Fabulous spot, thanks guys for showing me around the 'nooks and crannies' of KLIA "Where is the light ??? Where is EVA ???" u see what i saw? a 'P' marking at uncle Pieter shirt. P stand for Pieter. Good point there, Sherman, could not remember me 'sweating' a 'P' on the back of my polo The Vintage.... no not the photographers... the aircraft I meant.. The photog are well experienced veterans.. That's a good one In cowboy town... taking a break due to weather... Thanks a lot, guys, for the friendship rendered: I had a most enjoyable weekend at KUL
