Kevin Teh 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2006 Eric, nice clean bird of the Great Wall, first time seeing it Pieter, too busy around?
Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted June 18, 2006 Pieter, too busy around? Kevin, Yeah, 3 reasons: 1 - had to 'deliver' fellow MW member Azmi back to Schiphol for his 'Hibiscus' flight MH017 back to KUL, 2 - extremely long traffic-jams before reaching the Leeuwarden AFB (20,000 people visited ), 3 - busy preparing for the upcoming KUL-trip. Again, for not able to show you the shots

Eric M 0 Report post Posted July 8, 2006 nice photo, a lot of the airlines fly A320 right now eh Lionel, AMS is still a large B737 airport (hence the fleets of KLM, Transavia and many other visitors) Although, the A320 is widely spread in service among European carriers. AZ, AY, AF, IB, VY, BA, LH, OS, EI, OK, TP, LX, U2 are all using them (319/320's) on several flights, although not on all. Usually they also bring other aircraft types to AMS. Because I saw many nice pics from Pieter and JAL now I want to dedicate this nice and tiny Fokker 100 to Pieter Did they cleanup this machine Pieter? Mx people listened to your voice? Seen on arrival from MAN, "KLM1094". Bye Eric

Guest Levent Report post Posted July 11, 2006 Hi guys, I was just uploading some pics to my own website and thought I'd share these older pictures from AMS with you. It's just a rough selection of various types - I am making new pages with aircraft specifications for my site and adding one or two pictures per page. This Maersk Air 737-500 OY-APK blends in nicely with the background... One of my favourite aircraft - the L1011, here in Air Transat colours Northwest Airlines DC-10 N234NW - I prefer these colours to the new ones KLM MD-11 PH-KCC just rotating from Rwy 24 Martinair 747-200 PH-MCE crossing Rwy 06/24 Happy spotting! Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted July 16, 2006 As you might have learned from the 'oldest F27 topic', the Lelystad airport had an 'open-day' today and the Aviodrome museum organized a bi-plane event the same day (16jul06), so off I went to see some planes and do a little 'shooting' Unfortunately, there were not many bi-planes at the airport, but the ones present were quite nice: Here a Buecker Jungman in Swiss colours, but with Polish registration; note the wooden prop: This immaculate Antonov AN-2 D-FONL was doing some 20 minutes joy-flights for around 70 Euros p/p : Love the sound of this gigantic radial engine The colours are of Deutsche Lufthansa (1949), the forerunner of Interflug: Another big radial engine has be mounted on the PH-APR, an agricultural plane: This Cessna Centurion, surely was far away from her home-base : Close-up of the modified Cessna 206 PH-PCF, fitted now with a PT6 engine (nice roaring sound ): ULV flying is very popular at EHLE, and they even have their own dedicated grass-strip: Also there is 1 helicopter training school at the airport, using the R44 as their trainer: "Polder Aviation" is one of 5 'regular' flying schools, using this Cessna 152 or the bigger 172: In front of the Aviodrome museum, this prototype Fokker F50 (PH-OSI) can be found: One of the many visitors today, a Brit flying a German plane : This one is for you, TK, because you LOVE the shape of her body : Enjoy !!! Comments welcome...

Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted July 31, 2006 Some highlights seen 31JUL2006: OK-TVC still operating in this hybrid MH colour-scheme on a QS flight: Hemus Air is not operating their 154's anymore into NL, but these 737-400's: LZ-HVA First time I saw this FB flight in their new colours (LZ-BOR): I know there are plenty of three-holer lovers amongst us; here 5X-ROY rotating from 18L (400mm @ 1.5X): Air Italy is operating on behalf of B8 to/from AMS (I-AIGB): One of the best South American liveries, I believe, is LAN; here N312LA: this is just a selection; more tomorrow as tuesday is "Turks" day
