KS Ong 1 Report post Posted June 15, 2014 The MH Classic 734, to we all known fondly as 'jelly-fish', 'M&Ms', 'Smarties' has been given a simple retirement 'party' after 22 years of service. We were very thankful for Malaysia Airlines' invitation to cover this momentous event; covering on behalf of MalaysianWings. The program was simple and straight forward: 2030 - Pass collection at L2 MTB. 2115 - Media arrives at Gate A2R, escorted to tarmac. 2135 - Aircraft, MH 1165, arrives to water canon salute. 2200 - After pax deplane, photo session with crew in aircraft. 2230 - Refreshment at MAS Domestic Golden Lounge. Pass collection This piece of plastic can 'literally' bring you to places... While waiting to be escorted into airside, many things were running through Hon Kit's mind After long security screening, we ran through the terminal and quickly positioned ourselves on the tarmac as the plane has landed. A final salute. A video to be watched in HD.

Hon Kit 3 Report post Posted June 16, 2014 Continuation... As we leave long after everyone left the tarmac, we proceed to the door waiting for all passenger to disembark the aircraft and MAS CEO to enter the aircraft. Everyone rushed into the aircraft and we caught stranded outside. When we managed to enter the aircraft as everyone leaves, the mini celebration has ended. Hence , we loiter around the aircraft. Ong cover the aircraft at the front while i cover the back. And some final pic of the cabin To be continue...
KS Ong 1 Report post Posted June 16, 2014 It was pretty intense when AJ and his media entourage walking towards the plane to congratulate the crew. As you can see from Hon Kit's picture, imagine everyone trying to cramp into the small door to get a picture. After some photos with the crew, AJ walks back to the terminal for a short press brief. He looks happy. A very jovial mood in the cabin. After 22 years, the feeling is bitter sweet. A last look at the classic cockpit... Lastly, Capt Muzairul signing off and closes the 734 cockpit door for the last time. One last crew group photo with the aircraft Manufacturer's Model No. 737-4H6 Manufacturer's Serial No. 26458 Type Cert Co. A16WE Production Cert No. 700 The aircraft is then handed over to the ground engineers. Security personnel 'closes' the door.

Hon Kit 3 Report post Posted June 18, 2014 Kenneth, prior entering the aircraft . At the door, look up. Most Boeing aircraft has it. Airbus don't have I think. Never see any on Airasia
Benjamin Ho 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2014 Airbus have the same thing on the door, at least for Air Asia that is... I always checked the information as I board the plane. Ben-G
