It takes two to tango as partners. Problem is, Tony often thinks "Whatever Tony wants, Tony gets,". That's not how partnerships work.

True. But not forgetting they (M@hb) are also very incompetent and sub standard.

Philippines and Indonesia will have their best ever years. Both airasia Pillipines and Indonesia will take more planes than Malaysia or Thailand. First time on our history. We now have four engines of growth.

Looks like this year's expansion will be slower in Malaysia and Thailand.

Are they though?

Of course when you compare to Changi it's different, but you have to understand that Changi's management only has to focus on Changi. MAHB on the other hand has to focus on KUL and all the other airports bar JHB. All with their own needs which needs to be balanced.

That shouldn’t be an excuse though. Just saying.

Yes, that should not be an excuse - if management is competent, they will find ways to overcome the challenges. Airasia is also trying to overcome the challenges it faces.

MAHB should also learn a thing or two about giving customer satisfaction.

While it might be true that MAHB is far from perfect, it's not like KLIA T1 is run any differently from T2. That certainly doesn't justify TF's demands for preferential treatment.

They run more than just Changi - please see https://www.cai.sg

Are u sure it is preferential treatment? Airasia are asking for a downgrade from FSC airport to LCC airport. AFAIK, that is what Avalon and Nagoya are partnering with them for.

AirAsia seems to think they're in a position to demand lower charges just because they operate out of KUL T2, while still getting the same basic services as everyone else at KUL.

Doesn't make it different - they're able to invest on profitable airports, whereas in the case of Malaysian airports, it's a case of "national service".

That is a reason the gomen should remove "national service" from glc else the management could use as excuse for underperforming and expecting bail out.

A good example of mahb management incompetency is security check/scanning at security holding/departure. By employing one extra security personnel per scanning lane could reduce queue time by half.

Easier said than done. Who's going to take over the non-profitable airports? Who's going to pay for it to continue operations?

The question to be asked is are they managing all these airports any better?

National service should not be an excuse for KLIA. SPVs have been set up before and could be set up again under Khazanah Nasional. Free KLIA from the shackles of national service and let it make tons of money to pay dividends to Khazanah.

klia2 is not exclusive to AirAsia and all airlines flying out of there enjoy the same service and charges.

If you maintain that airlines and passengers are getting the same service as KLIA, would you be happy to use it if your favourite airline flies out of klia2?

You know they say your attitude determines your altitude. When you keep saying it’s too hard and we’ve done the best we could, it’s impossible, it takes time, effort etc, you’re not gonna achieve anything at the end of day.

The credential of those running the airport is also questionable.

It’s no wonder all airports are in sorry state, klia1 included. It’s not run down, just not well maintained and worn out.

One solution is local authority with grant from mot. Airport is a node of public transportation network like bus station. Edited by KK Lee

You can have all the attitude in the world, but without knowledge you still not going to achieve anything.

Sometimes you need to be realistic.

Sure, but that requires more funds from the government. And more funds from the governments means more revenues required. More revenues required means more taxes.

We just reverted back to a pretty much useless taxation system (SST). Think the government is going to go for increased taxes to do all that? Not with the current yahoos in office.

If you maintain that airlines and passengers are getting the same service as KLIA, would you be happy to use it if your favourite airline flies out of klia2?

I would. In fact last time I had used it, Tony's company stranded me for 6 hours because they cancelled my flight without informing me. The wait for my rescheduled flight (which they had the gall to charge my travel party extra to take!) was made bearable because it was at klia2.

If it had been the shed, I'd be pretty pissed off.
