  3. i'm sure its changi that copies its ideas from schiphol airport... i love AMS... brilliant! the signs are HUGE, plenty of things to see and do... lots of hot women, good food... what more can you want?
  4. spot on jamie...its not difficult to do...its not brain surgery or rocket science
  5. don't forget Air Mauritius and Qatar Airways....
  6. the stewardesses look really hot....but the colour scheme is absolutely disgusting.
  7. MAS will probably form an alliance with Myanmar airways international, air asia, berjaya air, jatayu, top air, uzbekistan airlines and macedonian airlines. i don't know what the hold up is all about... doesn't anybody know what's going on with regards to Alliances ? i know there are people here that are quite intimate with other aspects of MH's operations.. pieter? anything exciting from the european perspective? how are you keeping anyways?
  8. i've travelled on MH, SQ, JL, TG, BM, BA, QF, MS, SV, 9P, KL,and IB .....and MH has by far the best service and catering compared to these airlines. okay...emirates is not on the list....but looking at reviews and comments by other people.....MH wins hands down. and fendy is right....bigger food portions do not equate with quality, and taste is subjective.
  9. no..it was a 3-4 weekly flight from kul to yvr via tpe. mh operated b744 aircraft on that route...codesharing with canadian airlines
  10. yeah...unfortunately MH does not have many friends... pieter...what is the story with MH and ST?? and is it true about the french causing trouble or is it just rumours... why are AF and QF giving us so much grief? i really don't understand... tell the french to p++s off and take their bloody submarines back... we don't want 'em.. QF can forget about malaysia and let MH monopolize the M'sia-Ozzie route...but don't cause grief to us if we want more flights... what a pain in the arse they both are....
  11. come on guys.....what are you all on about....MH is definitely better than SQ. if you can't support your national airline....don't start supporting SQ! that's why MH is bankrupt and SQ has all the money! to the pedants out there....yeah, i know there are many other factors involved.... but Malaysians using SQ is another reason for them to prosper!
  12. they dont want to fly to KUL because the have made a huge investment in SIN to be their air hub. imagine...SIN has SYD shuttle flights (7 x daily) by QF or something ridiculous like that in the 80s...i don't know what it is now.
  13. agree with sandeep...EI, AY and BA are most welcome... loads of malaysians travel to DUB for their studies in ireland, and EI can capitalise on the Europe-Ozzie traffic via KUL. OR they can codeshare with BA once they start flights to KUL (how about that?) HEL-KUL has been mentioned many times....charter flights by AY to PEN have happened in the past....so why not KUL? Scandinavia-M'sia direct flights hardly reflect the total number of scandinavian arrivals here... I remember the failed AZ service to SYD via KUL (never really happened so can we say 'failed'?). would be interesting to see if Bashir's words come to reality. MS also was going to fly CAI-KUL-SYD after pulling out from SYD but they ended up with financial difficulties and therefore had to suspend low yielding routes (KUL is very frequently mentioned after that phrase, recently) QF i agree can piss off. we don't want them here and we don't care. Jamie.... lets make it a hattrick and kill off BKK and SIN at the same time! MAHB, like the national football team lack the oohm...the need some more belacan...
  14. that is good news for KLIA... if indeed its true. kul 1 cgk 0. next is mnl....then sgn hehehe
  15. if you want to look at the past....yeah....SR and AF flew to CGK but not to KUL....but at some point, KUL had been served by aeroflot, balkan bulgarian, sabena, czechoslovakian, air france/UTA, turkish airlines, JAT , British Airways... so forget about it man....!
  16. haha....don't get me pulled into this game...okay okay, QF is a western carrier then: KUL- austrian, KLM, lufthansa, transaero CGK- KLM, lufthansa, qantas..... at the moment...KUL and CGK equally have the same number of 'western' carriers....soon (oct 28 onwards)...we will have 4! discussion closed (i have been fair!)
  17. AF does not fly to CGK anymore....it codeshares with KLM via KUL Yeah...QF is not a 'western' carrier....i always thought the australians wanted to be called asian! But fair enough...QF does not fly to KL. but i would not say that CGK is served by more western carriers than KUL. somebody help me out here!!!
  18. by the way....CGK has more domestic passengers than KLIA....look at Jakarta's population of 10 million compared to KL/Klang Valley of 4 million. indonesia has 200 million population compared to malaysia's 25 million. this has enabled the low cost industry to grow significantly in indonesia by population alone, CGK should have 50 million pax/year....but it only has 26 million compared to KL's 21 million and SIN's 30 million... so..don't feel too bad.... its not the same situation. we are improving as well...
  19. er..."more western carriers flying to CGK??" KUL: 4x weekly LH daily KLM 6x weekly OS soon to be 2Xweekly UN CGK: daily LH daily KLM hmmmmm.... not really!
  20. its not svo-kul....it will be dme-kul (domodedovo airport in moscow)
  21. there's a website with old route maps from the major airlines flying (or not flying!) ... according to Pan Am's route maps from the mid/late seventies - SZB was on it! only for a year or two.... SIN/BKK/MNL/CGK were definitely on it.... CGK faded away with KUL
  22. SR never flew to KL...airlines from europe that used to fly to KUL/SZB included: BA Aeroflot UTA/Air France Turkish Balkan Bulgarian Sabena Czechoslovakian Airlines JAT Yugoslav Airlines Africa: Air Seychelles America: Pan Am Northwest Asia/Pacific: Air Maldives all sorts of cambodian airlines ANA Qantas Air New Zealand Jatayu Star Air Royal Jordanian Kuwait Airways Kyrgyzstan airlines Air Kazakhstan wow...what an impressive list...KUL's sad story...
  23. haha...that's true...never really thought about it!
  24. aeroflot used to do once a week SVO-DXB-(?DEL)-KUL-SIN and once a week SVO-TAS-KUL or something like that in the 80s (with IL62). there were various routings used including KUL to Halim Perdana Kusuma airport in Jakarta... then it was SVO-DXB-KUL-SYD with the A310s in the early 90s before the suspension of services Transaero, on the other hand, have recently acquired B742 that they plan to use on their Asian expansion (glad to hear KUL is on the list!). they currently use 767s to SIN and TPE...
