  1. Its fun to read the comments of bloggers underneath the article. Maybe can promote Malaysian Wings as well to the bloggers.
  2. Temasek needs to beef-up its public image in Malaysia and Thailand. Its recent investment in Thailand and Malaysia recently have drawn fiery reactions from locals who sees this as a Singaporean 'business imperialisme' what more with Temasek CEO being the current Singapore's PM wife. I thing this whole issue caused the downfall of Thaksin as Thai's PM. But then, this is globalisation. Welcome to the 'flat world'. Agree with Azahan. MH should have stakes in AirAsia without interfeering with its business model and operation. Heck, even Microsoft have shares in Apple Computer.
  3. I like it. Red belly... love em even more!
  4. Arimi Raldi, Great shots by you. Now since you're in MW, I'm feeling like just want to fly down to Jakarta for spotting... Which part of Jakarta are you from? Hope to go for some nice nasi padang and sunda foods also BTW, how safe is it to do spotting around CGK? I noticed some village around the perimeter of the runway, but don't dare to go there on my own.
  5. Just to finish off where Radzi started... The CGK graveyard Photo taken 11 November 2006 on board Air Asia Indonesia aircraft.
  6. 100% agree. Very very impressive set of photos from Cangkareng. Hope to see more. Is it normal for EVA Air to send B747 to CGK?
  7. Some photos at Changi during my SQ flight back to PEN on the 15th of December 2006 The flight was slightly delayed to wait for connecting passengers, which gave me the opportunity to see this CX coming in to join her A330 sister Then Qatar passed by on the way to the runway Vietnam waiting while our B777 was waiting for Sri Lanka Airlines (not in picture) to take off. Sorry about the lighting, and well, that is all i have to share. Thanks for viewing
  8. Sorry to ask, but who actually fly on Saudia to the point they need that many planes? I mean, the Saudis are practically not really that welcomed in many countries especially the Western countries and outsiders travel to Saudi Arabia mainly for Hajj or Umrah in Mecca and Madinah and to work for petroleum industry. Well there are also Filipinos, Indonesian and Indians working as maid, cleaner and labour but thats it! So what make the Saudis need more planes?
  9. The TV program "LOST" comes into my mind now!
  10. I believe there are many more 'Naim's out there who are just willing to travel on a budget without the frills. So for every 10 people who complain "cannot-fly-on-budget-airlines-for-12-hours-on-cramped-seat,-no-entertainment-and-have-to-buy-expensive-on-board-food", there are another 100 who would just be willing to do just that.
  11. Ewan, Excellence pictures. Thank you. Love the blue sky in the SQ shot and the Labuan Port shot. Went to BWN last year, but photo have yet to scan the photos in my film camera.
  12. Yup, as Min Chun pointed out, I (and probably Teoh) meant to comment about Butterworth Bus Terminal. The one that you meant could probably be the new bus terminal at Sungai Nibong, at Penang Island, next to the new Penang elevated highway. However I believe the Butterworth Bus Terminal has higher volume of traffic and passenger numbers due to Butterworth strategic location in the northern part of Peninsular Malaysia. This is why it is in urgent need of an upgrade or a new terminal.
  13. Good idea about the SkyBus Penang version. But they must definitely upgrade or build a new modern and dedicated bus terminal in Butterworth. It is a shame, real shame that Penang, one of the most developed state in Malaysia and a major tourist destination and transit point has one of the worst bus terminal in the country. And this has been the condition for many many years since the original Butterworth bus terminal was destroyed by fire. As a Penangite, I think the state of the state is getting from bad to worst in recent years. I did a drive around the Penang Island on Tuesday, and what I saw prompt me to believe that Penang is NOT really ready for Visit Malaysia Year 2007.
  14. Yeah, I did the route once on a business trip to BKI from PEN. Really really fun with 4 stops in between. But my business associate who were travelling with me and who were not so fond of flying, weren't that happy.
  15. Is it true?Good news for me then. When will it start?
  16. thanks for the link azfar... It looks like our friends in Indonesia seems to 'know more' about AirAsia than us here in Malaysia And they are very critical of AirAsia... not surprisingly though since they have Lion Air and Adam Air
  17. Highest number of Malay students in local government-owned universities are from Kelantan!... UKM which is Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia itself can be renamed as Universiti KELANTAN Malaysia in Selangor! The most active and biggest student body in Universiti Malaya is...well you guess it right....Persatuan Mahasiswa Kelantan (Kelantan Student Society) Former Vice Chancellor of UM, Dato' Hashim Yaacob is also from Kelantan
  18. Lok laq betui hangpa nih!!! ooops... speaking uthagha la pulak... takpa noo Really funny, if you understand Kelantanese dialect, which is one of the most unique dialects in the diverse Malay language. And one thing for sure, a Kelantanese will always be a Kelantanese. Even if he/she has jet set around the world, living in the most un-Asian places for decades, they will never loose their special dialects, thanks in part to 'budu' (a special sauce the Kelantanese can't live without). Kelantan may be the least developed state in Malaysia, and the poorest, but their people are also the most enterprising, especially the women. Many of the top corporate leaders in KL and senior civil servant in Putrajaya are also from Kelantan. They have a very strong bond with each other that M'sian from other states find it hard to comprehend. Heck, even the Kelantanese Chinese are different from other Malaysian Chinese. And believe me, the Kelantanese are the most politically opiniated and aware people of all Malaysian. That is why the Kelantan government rotates between Barisan Nasional and PAS every decades or so. Never underestimate the political knowledge of the ordinary folks inKelantan. The most powerful for a politicians to gain influence in Kelantan is through 'coffee shop politics' (politik kedai kopi). Populist politics is the keyword there. ps. I think this section better move to 'Golden Lounge'
  19. Agree with Yukihiro. Just rent a car. Cheapest car could go as low as RM 80 a day (Proton Iswara - not really that good, but good enough to get anywhere in the island). BTW, great photos there Yukihiro. I just got back from Langkawi by ferry. Was surprised they have upgraded the ferry terminal. Even got Starbucks Coffee with free wireless internet. Now it is school holiday season in Malaysia, so expect full house in most hotels in Langkawi. Hoep you have a great time there Levent. Happy also to know there is a new AK flight to Langkawi from Bangkok.
  20. Will such arrangement be duplicated elsewhere in the near future, including in Kuala Lumpur where KLIA is very far from the city and in Singapore, Hong Kong and Bangkok as well by the respective home based carrier?
  21. Some delay also occured a day before this big delay day. My sister who usually fly MAS, was stranded on Sunday for her flight to BKI... Her flight was delayed for nearly six hours. I really pity her. I don't agree with the concept 'you get what you paid for'. Being transparent and honest shouldn't be measured by how much was paid by the passengers. Even if the passengers paid RM0.99 for the flight, AK should be more informative to the stranded passengers as to the cause of the delays. I'm sure after this incident, many passenger will requestion their decision to fly AK ever again.
  22. Yeah I agree with you guys about the uniqueness of KBR, and that it doesn't try to copy KLIA's design. I'm really surprise that of all the state, it is Kelantan that has one of the nicest and most modern airport terminal in Malaysia (considering that Kelantan is not governed under BN government). I don't really see a need currently for international flight into KBR, but I would really appreciate domestic flight from KBR to many other destination such as to PEN, IPH, reintroduce to JHB and maybe even to KUA, BKI or KCH (many Kelantanese living in Borneo, either as government servant, teacher, student or trader). I think the F50 can do the job, except maybe for BKI and KCH. And I think KBR is easy to do spotting also, many 'low' fence around its perimeter.
  23. The best spies for MAS are here in MalaysianWings Damn those lucky 7, get to fly free full time around the world
  24. This definitely a unique photo in KUL. Lucky you Razlan. Yes, a better place is a bit up to the hill, but beware of (sharp palm leaf) scrathes to your car if you go there. There is a KLIA spotting map on how to get there. But I hope other members can help show the way to Razlan here.
  25. Excellent work Levent. We sure like to know more about your spotting location. Maybe MH should pretend to wanting to cancel their A380 orders, so that Airbus send the A380 for the 2nd time to KUL
