  1. This is for J, so the seat selection is included. It is shown on their website as "1 FREE SEAT". Only issue is, upon selection of the seat, the "Confirm & Close" button disappears. Unless it could be because this ticket isn't on MH's own metal. Is this on a MH flight or code sharing?
  2. You can't confirm seat selections as well. Trying it out now, I can choose the seats, but doing so will cause the "Confirm and Close" button to disappear, so no option to save the changes.
  3. I'm curious, what is it about the 787 that you love so much?
  4. I hope MH is smart enough to get the Thompson Vantage XL for their A350. The standard Vantage is just ok for regional flights, but is very stretching for long distance. Also, from memory, the number of seats between F and J is supposed to be similar, just that F gets more better leg room/space and a private suite setup. So much for "regional" leading business class. Both Qantas/SQ and now Philippines has already surpassed it.
  5. Why? Laws of probability shows that there is no way MAB will be going for an 8 across on the 787 in Y...
  6. With the current fleet of A330, the best option is definitely more A330. He's most likely including the 77W into the mix for negotiation advantages?
  7. Look at the press release photo. The model plane he's holding is the black A350 test plane livery. But below that is a printer paper with the A350 bearing MAB's current swoosh livery.
  8. I have always found the speed of luggage from gate to carousel to be slow on KLIA.
  9. Looks like the "Premium Economy" is going to be similar to what's currently being offered on the current A330. Economy Plus, standard economy seats with more leg room.
  10. This is actually a smart idea for passengers travelling as a group. I'd tap that for family travels.
  11. The A350 will most likely be a 3-3-3 configuration.
  12. Not just only cramp, but also the position/location of the IFE box that makes an already cramp aircraft layout feels even worse! And while 3-3-3 is fine for the middle row, it sucks for the window seat users. Give me the A330/340's 2-4-2 any time of the day, thank you very much. Better for when travelling as couples too!
  13. Interesting, so as of current not all 3 runways are used simultaneously?
  14. With Qantas moving to Vantage XL and now Philippine Airlines (https://runwaygirlnetwork.com/2017/02/02/philippine-airlines-new-three-cabin-a330-wows-with-details)... It does makes you desire for more than the standard Vantage on MAB's A330s.. Wonder if the A350 will have Vantage XLs...
  15. Train would be the dream. Well, the dream is that the terminals are all close by, but there are many big airports which still relies on busses to transfer between terminals. I remember using the bus in LHR (MAS to BA) as well as NRT (JAL to Jet Star) to get between terminals.
  16. Not sure about now, but last year One World tickets was cheaper to be redeemed than MAS own flights when using enrich miles.
  17. You just unfortunately received someone with no experience. I would do what Chris suggested, to just end the call and do it another time. I've redeemed from many MH partners, most recently for JAL.
  18. Good to see them trying to fill up those A380.
  19. If it's 2-4-2, then I would commend Qantas for doing so, and I would retract my statement on 1 stop with a better aircraft being the ultimate better alternative. But, if it's going to be something trivial like USB connector?.... I don't know what to say...
  20. 17 hours in Y on a 9 abreast 787? No thank you. But one can see the appeal of not having to transit. Saves lots of time and also movements, unloading reloading of bag etc. But then this is only for Perth. So if Perth is their final stop, they would do so. But if they're going to the east coast cities, they will still have one stop. So it's still better to be on a more comfortable plane, especially on Y like Emirates's A380.
  21. As I've been mentioning, the usage of the current Vantage on narrow bodies would be a good option for MH considering their strategy of opening new thin and long routes. It'll be similar to what Jetblue is doing if this is the case for their A321's Mint class (J). 2-2 1-1 2-2 1-1 2-2 Of course the A321 is a far longer plane than the 737-8. So maybe MH may go for a: 2-2 1-1 2-2 ?
  22. Again I will stress on my experience with Air NZ. In Y, they function like a LCC. Pay for seats only, baggage/food/seat selections are all add-on. I've flown with them a few times and I have never once found their service to be lacking. Always friendly, food quality is good. With their B787 you can order your food from your screen. On that few occasion I compared what I would pay on Air NZ with the extras with Qantas a full service carrier, Air NZ comes out cheaper. So I would say if this is where Malaysia Airlines needs to head to be competitive and profitable, go ahead. Better to serve a good competitive LCC priced Y than a half baked FSC Y that leaves a sour experience.
  23. It's only firmed for 25 MAX 8 though. While the 25 option is for both 8 & 9, they are both too small and don't fly far enough for some long and thin route.
  24. If MAB wants to have thin and long routes using the A321neoLR, then those mint cabins etc would be great. Also, with regards to the LCC traits, I still find how Air NZ does it is a pretty good compromise. Y = LCC styled, basic fair, buy on board, add-ons and packages etc... but from Y+ on wards, it's a full service carrier.
  25. You should see JetBlue's Mint Class (J) on their narrow bodies! It's pretty much our A330's J on seats H & F! http://www.jetblue.com/flying-on-jetblue/mint/ So you get an arragement of 2 - 2, 1 - 1, 2 - 2.. etc... Throne seats!
