  1. political aside...... commercially speaking, SQ will not be interest in merging with MH at all. unless SQ is given full authority in position & human resources allocation.
  2. with the current technology and the availability of data, this case will remain a mystery. unless some new evidence surface out.
  3. it make sense as air asia can make it an alternative hub from HKG.
  4. was a bit surprised that the deck was build outside the airport terminal, actually i was expecting them to build it at the airport terminal to benefit more people especially passengers..
  5. regardless which camp of the government is from, for words of politician, you can take it with a pinch of salt. As they are politicians, that's how far they go. Initially Kulim airport is said to be a cargo airport, i believe there's no single solely cargo purpose airport in malaysia. Then now they said it is funded by private funder..... next round they might even drag Tony boy in. then if PH lose the next GE, an apology will be issued via social media claiming doing it for the sake for company. Here we go again.
  6. "AirAsia is seeking support from Japanese regulators to obtain more slots at Japanese airports." the intention is pretty clear.
  7. past four flights recorded similiar issue on the airspeed indicator, maybe there's some improvement opportunity in the service guidance. may it be Lion's aircraft service SOP, or Boeing technical service handbook. https://www.bbc.com/indonesia/indonesia-46105740
  8. sounds like it, because it is mention about "airport exit tax". simply because it is the simplest way to collect revenue in an effective manner. small effort, huge money.
  9. the statement still back to the basic actually, i don't believe an additional will be enough to deter people from travelling. as simple as it is. Yeah, they make noise about it and end of the days airport still chalking up passenger growth year over year. I think such move is good in order to increase revenue for the government (so long they use it the right way)
  10. i was thinking about if you could afford to purchase a ticket to fly, is RM20 or RM50 too much to pay for?
  11. just that it is a tat more frequent for AK, that's it
  12. AK can just try and axe the route whenever it is not profitable, which is pretty normal for AK, launch it, and axe it if it is not making profit. it wont be the first time they do it, and it won't be the last.
  13. better be there early, the open day at Butterworth AFB create a havoc to surrounding area with the jam spread to the NSE.
  14. focusing in bringing in china tourist to spend in malaysia. not too bad.
  15. i believe the ticket pricing is dynamically managed. i bet the system wouldn't know which aircraft serving that route, so the pricing is solely decided by the sector book % etc. of course, MH need some consistency in their product line up.
  16. is it due to the departure time slot? kinda surprise that BKI - SIN not working out.
  17. yeah.... kinda crazy to think about it. Malindo can make their ATRs working, but then...... firefly couldn't. same aircraft type. similiar business model afterall. not like LCC vs FSC. anyway, we should be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel for these poor birds end of the days.
  18. looks like MH rather ground those 600s than flying it, or probably it is pricey to upkeep those bird so they might as well storing it. Hmmm....
  19. there's an open dy at TUDM Butterworth on 8th Sept, who's there?
  20. tuhau is nice if you know how to appreciate it.
  21. if we were to look at bean counters, every single minutes make sense (cents). In longer sector you can't salvage a sector but you could do it with short sectors. Imagine every 5 minutes recovered in a turnaround then you can salvage a 50 minutes margin. AK chalk up a lot of domestic sectors per day. see, they are making money out of it and yet they blame MAHB for making AK not low cost and not affordable to fly. not about able or not able, it is all drilled down to the operation requirement of the airport where they flying to.
  22. 9M-EBX parked within the airport vicinity?
  23. if AK were to influence the design, it will another tesco like terminal for penang. with no aerobridge. LCCT3. well, one of the known secret about AK is their high aircraft utilization %, you can reduce stationery time by using lorry stair to perform embark disembark from front and rear exits, and perform refuel while passenger boarding. imagine if they able to chop 5 minutes of stoppage time per flight let's say on KUL-PEN sector, imagine how much time they able to recover? Of course, there's no advantage toward passenger at all other than additional fuss of going up and down the staircase.
