  7. During the early stage of the 2nd WW, Boeing B17 was painted in drab olive. They found out that, that paint weighs as much as 200 Kg or pounds (can't remember). Hence the later B17 and B29 was sent to war without any paint. The advantages of not painting the a/c is very obvious here as the a/c can carry more ammos and bombs......

  10. NewsEurocopter: Is the X3 the World’s Fastest Helicopter? AAA..By ThirdAge News Staff Posted September 28, 2010 5:56 PM.grab this widget | start a petition | by Care2Eurocopter revealed a revolutionary new helicopter design on Monday. And the Europe based group is hoping to break some records. The design is intended to counter its U.S. rival Sikorsky's efforts to break the speed barrier, the Daily Mail reported on Tuesday. Eurocopter President and Chief Executive Officer Lutz Bertling said, "The teams at Eurocopter took this hybrid helicopter from concept to first flight in less than three years, which demonstrates their skills, capabilities and dedication to defining the future of rotary-wing aircraft." X3's innovative design features forward-facing propellers mounted upon two stubby aircraft wings along with traditional helicopters' overhead rotor blades, producing a hybrid plane-helicopter design. The X3 is propelled by two turboshaft engines powering its main vertical five-blade rotor, while two more forward-facing propellers are installed on small wings on each side of the aircraft. The company also said the X3 can fly at nearly 250 miles per hour. Conventional helicopters for commercial and civilian flights fly at around 150 miles per hour. Because when I was staying there a group of stewardeses who join me in the elevator suddenly blurted out to me, that they were afraid to go up to their rooms by themselves and they waited for any man to sort of accompany them... But I do have a bit of weird experience there.....
