Revived indeed !!!!! If only MH can buck up in its finances sooner, I am sure they can make a difference in many aspects in airlines business. Whatever said, I am sure I can still travel on SQ despite being unhappy with their services quite often but that is only if I had to travel on an airline I was not comfortable with regards to safety.

It is indeed going to be sad news for KUL if they really leave Malaysia. Well, we can conveniently believe the reason behind this is the rising oil prices but I think there are more reasons to stopping the SYD/MEL routes which directly involve KUL and SIN as a destination for OS. I am not too bothered with the SIN withdrawal but KUL should be a good reason to fly in especially now that MH is the only option to SYD and many other EU & US destinations. Lets hope OS remains in KUL at least.....how are we going to visit the DANUBE RIVER if OS stops flying ??

It is indeed amazing that they want to paint more aircrafts because I understand form other threads that it was more expensive to maintain the painted aircraft (weight issues and etc) ? Well I think they should paint their B777 instead as they may be keeping the B777 longer than their B744. I still think the blue fellow looks stunning and seems to be the best for me !!!!!!

Good news for MH ! Another milestone achieved !!! However, I think there has to be some profit in the KUL-FCO route because MH has been using the B744 for some time now on that route after an upgrade from the B772. I think not much hype has been made about that route because no one expects that route to perform, what more to a Malaysian. It makes more sense or would be considered "ideal" to connect or fly into other airports like Keno mentioned such as LHR or AMS. Let us hope that the FCO route is profit making and that it will generate more profit and provide good connections for onward pax to Ozzy and vice versa. Also, we may see AZ making KUL a destination in SEAsia after strengthening its financial status. It surprises me how Idris Jala sees things; which is very unstereotyped. For example, he pointed out that the EZE route was profitable when almost everyone else thought otherwise. Interesting that they are making FCO an important route to focus on in Europe. Who knows what is in store for MH. The former MAS MD, Aziz suggested today that MH start a LCC to compete with other LCC in the region. I also agree that KLM and MAS should increase their cooperation on the code share agreement.

It is indeed sad to see Air NZ' absence at an airport near us. However, I think with the 40 to 80 odd pax in the aircraft which can accommodate 6 times more pax simply justifies everything. Also, EK and SQ are probably their biggest competitors but it also depends, maybe there aren't any people going to SIN ? OS for example, flies SYD-KUL-VIE and vv with NZ code sharing on that flight. I believe it could be the same for OS' SIN stopover as well. All in, I still hope Air NZ will fly into KUL once again in the near future. Good for SIN

Hi Sim, I work for a student exchange organization, so it is obviously an NGO....and I my job is a multi tasking position, so I fetch my students and send them off twice a year each, so I get to watch the planes this much at least.

Yeah the flight did operate the KUL-CGK flight and I witnessed the departure at 425am today. Been at the airport the whole day for work and saw some interesting planes such as the KE 747, QF 747 (* Dreaming...I think Nalanji), strange but yeah its true....maybe diversion from SIN or some sort ?

Wow nice to see more than one Blue Plane at one time !!!!! What's the reason for the delay Pieter and what time is the delayed flight scheduled to leave KUL for AMS ?

Sounds great especially the fact that they forecast good results. Also, they want to code share with Alitalia ? Could be a good thing for all we know!!!!!

Hi Edwin, Nice shots....I was there too but came in only when the CX plane arrived....kena tahan by the JPJ officer who was rounding the airport yesterday. Strange that the airport was using one runway only yesterday. Any idea why ?

Hey Keno, Well said and very true....sometimes we are all so caught up in our dreams and fantasies to see MH fly to a certain destination but what we fail to realise is that we (MW and MH) cannot afford to have these sentiments and make it a reality. After all, it is our national carrier and our national pride, so its better to keep it strong and let it stand high than to compete like a fool and make nothing of it only to loose at the end. I hope MH gains from this new revamping and returns to profitability as soon as possible. Maybe, building and strengthening their foundation first would be ideal. I also support the idea of KL and MH code sharing as mentioned by Keno. It is really a wonder why MH has never thought of it or maybe they have but never put it to action ???!!! I think if MH and KL are doing well on the KUL-AMS-KUL route, they should increase frequency or maybe even capacity (A380).

Right now, i think MAS should just STOP flying to all of the Indian cities except DEL, BOM and MAA. The load to India isn't encouraging. MAS don't have enough connecting passengers from US to make the Indian cities work/profitable. MAS can continue to fly to these 3 main Indian gateways. In the mean time, MAS should increase their current flights to US and introduce more new US cities. Then all of their Indian cities will be as profitable as SQ's. I think although MH is not doing too well on the BLR route in terms of pax, they are doing ok on the cargo part of it which may be the money making factor on this route as well as to cater to some pax who are travelling to BLR from either the US or Europe. I know people who choose MH from LHR, FRA and EWR to go to some Indian cities like BLR and HYD. Since BLR is an important city in India, it may be as important as other cities too. But I agree with you Isaac that MH should boost their services to the US and then perhaps they will get the traffic they need. Also, that may not be in the near future...

I think KLIA is loosing its grip and taking a dive because we can see the others coming up and KLIA is still remaining within the range of 6th 7th and maybe next year 8th position wherelse airports like MUC are coming up and booming slowly but surely. KLIA better buck up or remain at this current position or loose out entirely to SIN and soon to be the new BKK !!!

My thoughts on this forum : It amazes me that everyone here are so excited with MH joining Skyteam as if its the best thing thats ever going to happen. I cant believe my eyes when someone wrote If MH were accepted as the newest member of Skyteam,it will be the major achievement in MH history!Love to see the Skyteam logo on all MH fleet (post 64) What achievement are you talking about ? Are we such low achievers as to celebrate the right to paint a logo on an aircraft ? You must as well celebrate a Proton landing on the North Pole ! The only intelligent post was when someone actually asked what the perks are by joining Skyteam (post 77), and no one could give an answer. Malaysia boleh ! Keith, I think what is exciting to us if MH ever joins any alliances or ST for that matter is that it may/will bring in more traffic to KUL thus making KUL some sort of hub within the region for an alliance. This could also mean KUL won't be referred to as a white elephant like many claim it to be. As you and the others mentioned, Star and One World is just not possible. Since ST does not have a strong ground in this area, MH may as well join it. But I see your point and others' as well on how ST seems to be a third class rated airline groupings but I think some credit should be given to some airlines in the group because of their much improved service. It is the same with other alliance which have similar black sheeps that make the alliance look bad. All said, I think we should support MH's entry into some sort of alliance, because I think MH needs it. Otherwise, creating an entirely new Alliance with VS, EK, GA, and whatever else that is left to make a good airline alliance that has good connections and hubs, impeccable services as well as a high rate airline membership.

Totally agree with you Walter !!!! In a way, its a shame to KLIA for being new and modern in architecture yet not compatible to our older counterpart. But I am sure many will beg to differ that KLIA has its ups and downs but I still think there are loads more that MAB and other authorities can do to improve KLIA as a prefered choice ; - training the staff for excellence in customer care - improving effieciency and standards of service provided - catering to modern day customer needs such as internet, entertainment and etc - wooing more airlines and with a lot of support from MH and AK to market KUL - tackling theft and security issues that occur a lot recently - keeping taxi touts/menaces out of the airport buildings - keeping hotel reps shut esp when pax arrive, more like a harassment taking place

Unlikely in the near future as always, MH never seems to amuse us all with their very shocking and exciting news only to be kept silent about eventually, what a "potong stim" to all of the excitement on the Alliance teaming up. I guess we'd have to wait and see what happens and when it really happens, then we can have a reason to be all excited about !!!
