thats the outflow valve of the aircraft. in layman's term, it's used for maintaining cabin pressure during flight and is open on ground. when airborne, it will automatically adjust how much of air escapes the cabin.

typically outflow valves are located on the sides of the fuselage.. and are often round in appearance. I think this is indeed the APU inlet door.

well the intake you spotted on the734 fuselage sidewards is not an cabin outflow valve but it is the APU intake section , the cabin outflow valve is located on the lower half of the aft fuselage sidewards . many are confused as the Apu intake section For the A320 is located below . so i guess u guys assume the same thing on the 734 but its not and its totally different rolleyes.gif
