Direct flights from TGG to regional cities?

Recommended Posts

i'm from TGG....i dont know what to say but the things is...the dream is BULLSHIT!!!!! berapa ramai rakyat terengganu yang mampu having flight??? most of them are 'orang kampung'(i didnt mean to kutuk2 them bcos i'm also a "org kampung")...but for me its better to increase the flight to sabah/sarawak without transit to KLIA....

Later, we will have every state gomen runs their own state airline from their respective state capitol city to the world (Air Perak, Air Kelantan, Air Terengganu, Air Pahang.......)

Few years ago when I live in Kemaman. Kemaman has a very big reserve area behind the industrial park, If anyone familiar with Kemaman, the area is known as Mak Lagam, which is behind Kg Fikri. I was thinking that Kemaman can be a good center for the east Gateway since it's like in the middle between Kuantan and Kuala Terengganu. Nowadays, Kemaman is even busier then Kuala Terengganu. And what I've heard from the local, that reserve area is even bigger then KLIA parameter.

Hu Hu, that one was few years back. Kuala Terengganu has been upgraded to 'Bandaraya'. Bandaraya Warisan Pesisir Air. You can see the 'tourist booming' here. New stadium for 2008 SUKMA is under construction. Hope it is not going to be white elephant after the event <_<

To utilize the new Kuantan airport, Petronas and MISC are asked to study to ship LNG by A380 to Japan. LNG will be delivered fresh to consumers, an advantage of buying Malaysian LNG.

KK Lee - excellent suggestions. Probably not far off what the Ministers want. Just like how the Brunei press wanted BA to fly via BWN once KUL was suspended.

no...but the bruneian government wanted to capitalise on kul's misfortune by asking ba to operate lhr-syd via bwn.

if they couldn't make kul work...bwn certainly is NOT an option.

they are similar to the state governments here who want kch-fra, tgg-zrh and kbr-eze

TGG could do with direct services to SIN. Just look at the large number of overnight buses from SIN at Merang jetty to get to Redang. While there's also Berjaya Air from XSP, that seems to be targetting on the more upscale market.

Let's not include KBR or Kelantan here since the State Government does not come out with those celebrated ridiculous fantasies, even if WMKC now handles more scheduled flights than both Kuantan and Kuala Terengganu.

Kuantan port and airport will be developed as the air/sea cargo super hub for East Asia. Goods destined to Middle East from Japan, Korea and Taiwan will be shipped to Kuantan port and transferred to Kuantan airport for air freight to final destinations.

Second runway will be constructed at Kuantan airport so that cargo operation won’t be restricted by RMAF. Six lanes elevated highway will be built to the port to reduce cargo transit time to minimum. The gomen will grant tax free incentive to courier companies FedEx, UPS, DHL to relocate their hub to Kuantan.

The air cargo complex at Kuantan will include the world FIRST climate controlled facility for live sheep going to Middle East during haj season. Ministry of Agriculture working with LKIM will encourage Thai fisherman to unload their catch at Kuantan port to air freight shashimi grade tuna to Japan. Ministry of Agriculture will request Malaysian airline to start regular cargo service to Japan for shipment of water melon, duku langsat from the 3 east coast states.

During the flood in December 07, Pekan town was cut off and air dropped of supplies was carried out by RMAF. The Gomen will build a airport in Pekan town to keep the town connected during the monsoon flood. This airport will also serve as tourist gateway to the east coast. Air service to Tioman and other holiday islands will be mounted from Pekan. For direct air link to middle east, the airport will be capable to handle long range Boeing 787 and Airbus A350. To stay above worst flood, the runway at Pekan will be elevated like a bridge, the world FIRST elevated runway. A yacht club will be located within the airport, private tourists can step on to their yacht without leaving the airport.

Scarily enough, half of those suggestions could have come straight from our ministers' mouths. Such is the sorry state that Bolehland finds itself in.

Agree with Ewan.

But it could be a different story after the next general election if new government is formed. :(

No problem !

That was never a valid reason NOT to "upgrade" before :)
