  1. I'm new to Enrich so I have some questions. Only read through the last few pages and didn't find the answers there. 1) If I book a flight together with some companions, for example my parents, do I earn Enrich miles from their sectors as well? Do I also earn elite miles/sectors from their sectors, for the purpose of qualifying for my own Enrich elite tiers? 2) If I take a flight using redeemed Enrich miles, does it count towards elite status qualification? 3) Elite sector definition: If I do a multi-sector flight e.g. KCH-KUL-LHR on economy (one-way), does this count as one or two elite sectors?
  2. Looks like somebody forgot to cross-check the paper flight plan vs the ATC flight plan... oops!
  3. It is true - the FO is flying with AK as an FO now. With regards to the SQ006 capt, after seeing this post, I just checked his name and realized that I have actually flown with him - TWICE - without realizing his history The most recent being just three days ago. If I didn't specifically see his name connected with the accident, I wouldn't have guessed it.
  4. I prefer if they giver out 'bonuses' to the flight crew if they're below a certain average weight. If that happens, I'll be getting huge bonuses every year because I'm well below average and hence saving my company mucho dinero on every flight
  5. AK9792 9M-AHS - KUL-JHB (Ferry flight) AK9796 9M-AHS - JHB-BKI AK9797 9M-AHS - BKI-JHB (Ferry flight back) AK9798 9M-AHS - JHB-BKI AK9799 9M-AHS - BKI-JHB (Ferry flight back, nightstop JHB for next day's same pairing)
  6. Latest update regarding AirAsia's chartered flights: Sources indicate that no banglas were on our flights today, just local Sabahans (not just adults, including children) being ferried from JHB to BKI. The flight was only about 2/3 full. The return sector BKI-JHB was empty. This seems to corroborate allegations that some East Malaysians were offered free flights back home to vote provided they vote for you-know-who. The allegations I read mentioned that they were offered free flights together with their entire family, which would explain the children. This would be strange since one would expect them to bring phantom voters OUT OF Sabah, their fixed deposit, INTO Johor which looks shaky for them at the moment.
  7. One simple question: if the flights were indeed paid for by so-called 'friends of BN', why were the senior management of both airlines talking with the PMO directly?
  8. Correction - maintain the use of reversers, but no need to even use any braking. Nowadays whenever C6 is closed and we need to vacate via C5, I do not use the autobrakes. After touchdown, just use idle reverse and let it roll out. Only brake while approaching C5. With P4 even farther than C4, I don't think we'll even need to brake at all. By the time we reach it, we'll probably be at 45kt, which is our max speed for vacating via hi-speed taxiways (dry). There is no benefit to be gained by not using at least reverse idle. On the other hand, the brake life will be extended if we do not use it, especially at high speeds eg just after touchdown. In summary: autobrakes off, reverse idle
  9. Albert you're right... it will probably be easier to taxi all the way across the airport and take intersection A8 departure from 32R, instead of using 32L
  10. http://aip.dca.gov.my/aip%20pdf%20new/AIP%20SUPP/AIPSUPP%20201201.pdf Here you go. There is a hi-speed taxiway P4 after C4 on the right.
  11. As an employee of AirAsia, I can confirm that these flights do indeed exist in the system ie there are allocated slot times, aircraft, and flight crew assigned to operate them. There are four flights daily JHB-BKI-JHB on 3/5-4/5, and four flights daily BKI-JHB-BKI on 6/5-7/5. Note that these are extra chartered flights with special flight numbers on top of the usual JHB-BKI flights. These flights cannot be booked or even seen on airasia.com hence are not for public use. One can only wonder what use the PMO has to charter four flights daily for two days immediately before and after the election. Coincidence?
  12. You're right it's AQT MSN 1286. No idea what's the story, and there are quite a few differences with the other a/c in the group.
  13. Based on AIP, there will be no high-speed exit on the left of 32C, so looks like we'll have to vacate via the regular taxiway on the left. Because of this, and also for other reasons, I suspect a lot of us will be requesting to land 32L. The new layout will be not much different than that at any other large airports e.g. SIN, CGK, HKG or BKK. The increased taxi fuel is just something we have to accept when operating at these airports. If I was the capt, I would just request intersection A8 departure from 32R. Taxi route will be one straight line across the MTB C1-D1-F-B8-A8. TORA of 2887m is more than sufficient. I don't think ATC will ever allow parallel runway operations with departures from 14R and arrivals on 32C...
