Spotting @ S'pore Changi Airport

Recommended Posts

Went to S'pore for 1 week holiday. Thanks to KC for accompanying me almost everyday.

There are so many pics from 5 days of consecutive spotting, so will take a while to edit.

Here are some of the highlights:

Air India Express B738 with winglets VT-AXF "Taj-Mahal" came in 3 times during my 1 week stay.

"Moomins" also came in 3 times during that week - OH-LGF once and OH-LGB twice :yahoo:

IPB Image

OH-LGB parked at gate D34 at dusk on 8/9 (Fri). This shot is dedicated to KC, thanks for the company ad hospitality.

Pieter C : And what sharp eyes you have!!! The B727 in the Moomin shot is B727-200F XU-RKF of Asialink Express Air with Royal Khmer Airlines title. It has been sitting around at Changi Airport for sometime already. It was supposed to operate a Phnom Penh - Singapore - Jakarta - Singapore - Phnom Penh trip daily . . .

Raymond's dedication to aviation photography is amazing . . . having come to Singapore after a week's work in KUL, a day of photography at KLIA, an overnight train ride to SIN, he continued with five days of photography at Changi from sunrise to sundown, and from moonrise to late night!!! Besides a camera bag, he dutifully carried his tripod . . . and he naturally was amply rewarded (though the weather did foul up his plans at times).

With each successive Star Alliance plane recorded, Raymond's smile grew wider until it reached both earlobes as he bade goodbye to Terminal 2's departure flight board.

KC, would like to know more about the Royal Khmer Airline, what is it about?

They fly only B727F?

cause the company has only scheduled flights to hkg month ago, but...........till now, all were cancelled.

so, would you mind telling me more background of this airlines?

Thanks

Raymond,

Thanks a lot for sharing :good:

This would have, definitely, been my highlight of the trip: rare registration and aircraft-type also become more rare in the coming months/years;

This AN12 looks like an ex-military one: grey colours suggest Ukranian, can anyone confirm ?

Feeling better today but still not fully recovered yet.

Anyway, took up Chaity's advice...... edit sunny shots 1st.

Never get tired of her. Such a difficult plane to catch. For a week of spotting @ SIN, only saw her on 6/9/06 (Wed).

IPB Image

One more shot of 9V-SPP, gears retraction in progress with anti-collision light.

IPB Image

Er.... I think i got Star Alliance addiction. Just couldn't get enough of them. 9V-SQG takes off while 9V-SPP is taxiing to Terminal 2.

Check out those huge engines. 9V-SGE coming back from CGK at noon time.

TC-JDN on finals runway 20R. KUL used to have Turkish. I think they pull out starting yr 2002, if not mistaken. Still saw them around in Nov 2001.

Pieter,

Yes, it's taken from the changi beach. Poor trees there, shake a lot whenever a plane lands.

It's 116mm multiply by 1.5 crop factor = 174mm.

Raymond,

Great capture of the Star Alliance series. Hopefully the A3UGLY, when it is no more delayed will come in 1 Star Alliance livery for all to see as well. Also not to forget the B773ER in Star Alliance as well.
