Kelvin B 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2006 Hi Guys, Went spotting at KLIA with some of the pros on Sunday. Finally managed to download the posts. We were shotting planes as they were landing on 32L. Here are some approach shots I wanna share. Am not so happy with the sharpness of the pics though... . Anyway, here they are... Lat landing Brunei People plane with stickers peeling off. Birds nest Indian... actually, two of these came landing one after the other. Saudi Another indian carrier And how can we leave out MAS? Another Air Asia MAS 330 China Cargo Sawasdeekrup 777 AWAIR Qatar Air Asia with strobe Sneeze airlines MAS 744 Will give some other views of these planes if I get the time... hope you enjoy the pics. Kelvin.... nice shots there As for sharpness in post processing you can run through Un-Sharp Mask to sharpen it.. here's I borrowed one of your image and did some post editing to the left portion of the image... to see the different.. I processed the image in CS2 as follows; 1. Adjustment Auto Level 2. Filter Unsharp Mask settings; Amount=50%, Radius=1px, Threhold=7 levels (note: these USM settings varies with size of image, sharpness freom camera etc) 3. Edit->Fade UnsharpMasking - Opacity=100% in Mode=Luminosity 4. Duplicate Layer, change blend mode to "Overlay" and reduced opacity=25% 5. Flatten layer (to reduce size) 6. Save These are my normal post editing workflows... but the settings depends on size of image, quality from camera, proper WB...etc Hope it helps... Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Chaity 1 Report post Posted May 31, 2006 It was a nice day to spot with lots of sunlight and opportunity to tan yourself. 3 of us (Kelvin, WeiSuan and Chaity) were spotting near 32L and another 6 (JK, TK, KC Sim and 3 overseas spotters) were spotting in Obs Hill. As usual, I will have some plane photos and more behind the scene photos. SQ coming in while Kelvin calling me on the photo. Sorry my friend, missed your call. Kelvin in action for the LAT plane. He ran so far to have a better shot with his umbrella by the side Then, WeiSuan joined in the race. Ops! A bit windy with the umbrella up side down Not forgetting MAS 734 with Saudi 743 from a distance taking her turn to land Tired of running and just have to take this shot here More behind the scene shots coming later. It was fun having OLy Nikon and Canon the last time we go spot haha.. I love TG773 shots alot.. I didnt get the chance to shoot it the last two times.. Chaity... convince MR Kelvin to get a DsLR lah.. he was tempted the last time we went spotting.. you finish the job hehe... then KLIA will be a fairer turf between Canon and Nikon.. But till now, I do not have any photo editing software, so these unprocessed photos will have to do. Sorry yah, please bear with me till I get the software installed. I am trying to play with the white balance of my Canon.... hmpp... slowly but surely, I will get it right..! Pieter, Sorry, no KL during my 3 hours in KL-IA. Your pics would be even better with a bit of processing - I use slightly different method (read it on A.Net), but I want to try Norman's suggestion too. China Airlines Cargo B747-400 B-18709 Landing Sequence Cant forget the A330-200 though. It always looks like there is only one wing from some angles. In fact, it looks so different from different angles. Love it...! MAS 9M-MKX This landing was rough.....left some smoke, and bounced up again... Finally gets back down on one set of wheels...
