Ricky Tiong 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2006 Thanks again guys for the exclusive photos taken! Jonathan, it is indeed a very nice overview of the new LCAT. Funny how Air Asia parked their new toys together away from the older toys. I guess they are trying to keep away from A vs B war! Cheers again guys!

Norman 1 Report post Posted March 29, 2006 Waaaa ... Emperor.... already secured air side pass for you still want to charge me 10 Euro kaaa... Hahaha kidding... anyway it was fun guys... Anyway... for my night shots, I would like to credit the splendid LCCT Pioneer Team in Apron Control Tower that very first night of "real" operation (Real here is that all final KUL arrival for Air Asia were terminated at LCCT that night...). So it really true to life ops... prior to this were simulated in PC's... Here they are in the control room that night We owe our gratitude to Tuan Hj Zulkefli Harun, Acting Director of DCA KLIA (wearing the white skull cap...MW member/non-poster...a friend of mine) They were so serious and so busy... I saw their untouched dinner on the table at 2200.. (they can't afford to have their dinner in the pantry..)
Min Chun 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2006 Wow..They have my full respect..
Norman 1 Report post Posted March 29, 2006 Sneeze... Air Asia parked together on the tarmac of the new KUL's Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) These photos were taken about 7 hours after the Prime Minister of Malaysia officiated the opening of the new terminal. Currently Air Asia is the main user of the terminal, thus you'll see only AK aircraft there. Ricky, The tarmac closer to the tower is the "International" side where you can see some people in the terminal (they are actually queing at the Immigration desks..) So for planes that are leaving for international destinations the next day will park here for the night... And this one for Sir Azahan, for the tour of Romeo Foxtrot and I won't charge a dime for this... not like Emperor
Fitri Shukri 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2006 Wow Norman, you got BIG CABLE in DCA. Its good some of DCA top figures share and understand our interest and passion for spotting. At least they know we mean no harm so that KLIA can be more open and tolerant to spotters in the future. We owe a big thank you to Norman and the geng and the DCA people involve. Sneeze Lam 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2006 Nice photos. May I know if all PAX have to walk on the apron to the LCCT or there would have shuttle bus service for those parked far away? Also if the aircraft needs any push back vehicles for departure?
