BC Tam 2 Report post Posted May 2, 2013 Flights for voters ‘normal’, paid for by friends of BN, says Tengku Adnan With so many 744s and 333s operating in/out of BKI daily, there cannot be any 'normality' at that airport Anyway, never noticed anything like this in all the previous elections I've been around - must be missed spotting opportunities all these years. At the very least, it is an abuse of the PMO machinery. And why are the schedules publicly accessible via MASKargo's website (for MH operated flights), but not even available for viewing on "flight status" thru MH's main website. Suzanne Goh 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2013 One simple question: if the flights were indeed paid for by so-called 'friends of BN', why were the senior management of both airlines talking with the PMO directly? Because there's no separation of party and government at the moment. And no separation of election vs official duties. On a slightly different note, and as an example, technically speaking, Najib shouldn't be using Perdana 1 for rallys/campaigns. Those are party, not governmental duties. Of course as sitting PM, there is a need for security - so BN should pay for all the non official duties like rallying back to the government when Najib uses Perdana 1. But the line is so hazy i don't think it'll happen... During his reelection campaign, Barack Obama had the use of Air Force 1, but the democrat party reimbursed the US government with the costs for campaign use. If I'm not mistaken, the jet that he travels around is operated by a private company, Jet Premier One but just using the Perdana 1 / November Romeo 1 callsign. I've not seen some of the military VIP jets since January. Seems missing. I wonder if the BBJ and the GLEX is on heavy maintenance or have been sold off before the dissolution. Comlux's A320 9H-AWK has been operating Perdana 2, Diraja1, Permai 1, November Romeo 2 for the past few months. I'm not sure about Comlux's A319 9H-AVK but it arrived KUL on 27/04 and rumoured it later departed KUL for Kazakhstan. Apart from that, Phoenix Aircraft Leasing, Singapore added a BBJ2 (VP-BHN) to its fleet last year and their website mentioned VP-BHN is for exclusive VVIP operations for the Malaysian gov . Mike P 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2013 Down At The Airport! http://www.sarawakreport.org/2013/05/down-at-the-airport/ How do we make this go viral? This is really frustrating though. Mike P 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2013 From AirAsia website, including the bangla or excluding? haha! Source: http://www.airasia.com/my/en/latest-news/avoid-congestion-during-ge13.page High traffic expected at airports during GE13 travel periodAirAsia guests advised to arrive at airports earlier than usual to avoid congestion KUALA LUMPUR, 28 APRIL 2013 – We would like to advise all AirAsia guests who will be traveling throughout the 13th General Election weekend to arrive earlier than usual for their flights at the various airports throughout the country. Over 35,000 travellers are expected to go through the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT), and all guests are recommended to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours prior to their respective flights and clear all travel formalities as early as possible to avoid the anticipated congestion due to the surge in travellers over the GE13 weekend. Guests are advised to utilize our web check-in and mobile check-in services for their travel convenience. Web and mobile check-in services are available 14 days before their scheduled departure flight up to 60 minutes prior. Those travelling without check-in baggage can proceed directly to the Document Check Counters to verify their traveling documents and enter the departure gates. For guests with check-in baggage, we would recommend them to arrive early to ensure they have sufficient time between conducting Baggage Drop and proceeding to their respective departure gates. AirAsia would like to wish everyone a safe journey and ‘Selamat Mengundi’ for the upcoming 13th General Election.

alberttky 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2013 (edited) Well, Tony is running a commercial entity. If someone is paying him good money to charter is aircraft, and if he can spare them, why not? I bet no one is gonna question anything if they send some chartered aircraft to Singapore to pick up Malaysians. Edited May 3, 2013 by alberttky
