Mohd Suhaimi Fariz 2 Report post Posted November 18, 2015 (edited) My friend is now stuck in MNL coz of APEC. The airport is paralyzed. Hopefully Obama will use SZB hereHe did last time (more specifically TUDM Subang) so I don't think it'll change this time around. For spotters though it will probably be tougher this time around with security as it is. Edited November 18, 2015 by Mohd Suhaimi Fariz

Mulyadir Fitri 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2015 Security is very tight in KL esp KLCC Saw some army personel today even armoured vehicles Makes you wonder why they've chosen KLCC. Surely Putrajaya with PICC is easier to be locked down?
Najib Ramli 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2015 Makes you wonder why they've chosen KLCC. Surely Putrajaya with PICC is easier to be locked down? that would be mainly for logistical reasons...most of the time the country leaders and their delegates would also be attending other functions/events/meetings as well and those would probably be around KL and not Putrajaya.... also KLCC is closer to most of their respective embassies...and of course, the safest place for a US president in case of emergency would be the US embassy which is a very short distance away from KLCC
Cire 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2015 Observed from flightradar24, Af1 Flew off approx 12.06 from szb..no call-sign until it totally switched off once off Pekan coast. Probably being escorted by a A400 flown from Butterworth which rendezvous with it just off Pekan. Another small jet enroute...bombardier. From flight trajectory, I think they are heading to Brunei. Cire 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2015 okay, A400M switched off its transponder when it neared Riau island.. interesting. Bombardier enroute..
KK Lee 5 Report post Posted November 21, 2015 (edited) When AF1 is out from the US airspace, it often disguise in other call sign/aircraft type. The A400M and Bomdardier are most likely USAF aircraft. Edited November 21, 2015 by KK Lee

Cire 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2015 What I observed from fr24 is that no aircraft was in the vicinity whether outbound or inbound, and that both all 3 aircrafts does not have a route destination, but are flying on commercial route (where other jets like RBA flew on). The A400M which momentarily switched off its call-sign before Riau Isl and re-appears again with no change in altitude, speed or heading.
