Air China Returned to Kuala Lumpur

Recommended Posts

Well its definately not from bad mouth breathe , although that's also a big issue ..and not clothing either , it's cigarette smoke from the vents and it was very apparent too ... A friend sitting a few seats back confirms this too.... Any pilots here can suggest what can be done if this happens in future ?

Thankfully no such issue when I flew CA from Sydney to Beijing and Beijing to Haneda .

But no soap to and fro Beijing /Haneda ...which was similar to an air Asia flight I took to Hangzhou , a while ago....very disgusting . The overall condition of the WC must also improve too.

...

no soap?? That's ridiculous, and FYI, AK does have soap in every planes' lavatories.

Could it be that the plane interior is too old and smell funny? I had the same experience but it was on a Fokker 50.

They should use either an A320 or 737 for this route

It probably can't make it to KUL without severe load restriction. Else, i think MAS probably would already have done so

How to compete with MH (A330 and A380) and D7 (A330)?

like that particular air asia flight to hangzhou i was on , i suspect the NO SOAP on that CA flight was also an oversight.but unlike the air asia flight

CA crew did produced some cleanser( which they insist was hand soap and not for the face !! ). but the Air Asia flight l didnt produce soap for the duration of the trip to HZ. I was mortified and disgusted.

How to compete with MH (A330 and A380) and D7 (A330)?

frankly i do not like the A380 at all unless one is in J or F :ninja:

its a nightmare scenario for me with the sea of people in Y

prefer boeing to airbus

so hope they will use the 787 instead....

Yeah, why CA not change to 738, is beyond me...

If you smell cigarette-smoke in the cabin, you bet it's the cockpitcrew causing it...how will you explain this to the passengers/customers when they're not allowed to ?

They should actually use a smaller A330-200 on this route.

At least they're using a better aircraft than before. Wouldn't be too excited if they send the 757 to KUL again!

Air China has some very cheap tickets from LHR to KUL via PEK this Christmas. Only £393 return. Thinking of buying the ticket as they are usually very expensive few days before Christmas. However, just noticed that their A330-300 used between PEK and KUL have not PTV on economy seats. Didn't realise that there are still full service airlines these days which do not offer PTV for medium to long haul flights. Anyone has actually tried their A330-330? Any comments?

AIR CHINA BEGINS FLYING FOUR TIMES A WEEK BETWEEN BEIJING AND KUALA LUMPUR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

25 October 2015

Sepang – The inaugural flight by Air China, the flag carrier and one of the major airlines of the People’s Republic of China, arrived last night at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). The new, four times a week service from Beijing Capital International Airport operates using an Airbus A330-300 aircraft.

The inaugural flight was welcomed with an official water turret salute, and the passengers were delighted to be greeted by a Malaysian cultural troupe together with VIPs from the Ministry of Transport Malaysia, Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia and Malaysia Airport Holdings Berhad.

Datuk Badlisham Ghazali, Managing Director of Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad said, “Malaysia Airports is delighted to welcome back Air China Limited, China’s flag carrier, to KL International Airport after a three-year hiatus. We are heartened by this return as it signifies the confidence that Air China has, in the strong growth opportunities that exist within the Malaysian market especially with regards to tourism. Malaysia remains one of the top three South East Asia destinations for Chinese travellers alongside Singapore and Bangkok.”

“Malaysia’s tourism sector with its offer of cultural diversity, beautiful tropical landscapes and booming retail sector, has always attracted a significant number of Chinese travellers, with 1.6 million Chinese travellers arriving into Malaysia in 2014 alone. These new direct flights will definitely strengthen the economic and cultural ties that already exist between Malaysia and China,” he added.

Mr. Ma Chun Hui, Senior Director of Global Sales Air China Limited was on board the inaugural flight, which was nearly fully booked with 228 passengers. He spoke to media and other guests who came to the airport to welcome the first passengers arrived from Beijing via Air China flight CA871.

“In recent years, Malaysia has been a quite popular destination for Chinese tourists. According to Malaysia Airport’s forecast, this year the airport will handle 85.8 million passengers, representing an increase of 3% over 2014. Not long ago, Prime Minister Najib also announced that from October 1 this year, Malaysia will grant visa exemption to Chinese tourist groups. The measure will further bring about a rapid increase of Chinese citizens travelling to Malaysia.”

He also added, “In the core area of South East Asia, Malaysia connects to ASEAN countries both on land and on the sea. To answer the call of the Chinese government’s “One Road, One Belt”, Air China has resumed its operations Beijing-Kuala Lumpur, which is of far-reaching significance. The route will serve as an air bridge for the development of long-term friendly relations between the two countries, further promoting the cooperation between the two countries in the fields of economy trade and investment and accelerating the development of local tourism.”

Headquartered in Beijing, Air China has several branch offices such as Southwest, Zhejiang, Chongqing, Inner Mongolia, Tianjin, Shanghai, Hubei, Guizhou and Tibet, besides its base in Southern China and the Engineering & Technology branch.

Was on Air China flight from KL - PEK recently, it has PTV on economy seats but the selection of movies is ONE WORD SO BAD until some of the movies are vintage!. Controllers are stuck to the side of the armset, but there is touch screen. Flights left KL with the neatly folded used blankets from the PEK-KUL sector on the seats, headphones are also recycled and I need to ask the cabin crew for a new pair. Cabin crew speaks no or little English. Legroom between seats is very tight. Flight KL at 1230, a meal announced as supper was served about 1 hour into flight and that was the only meal served, no breakfast later on for a 6 hours flight, just water or juice serve 1 hour before landing. No coffee or tea either and no drinks rounds after the served meal and crew disappeared after the cleaning up. Ask for a tooth brush from a crew in the gallery, crew says SORRY NO! Air China A330-300 for this route are the older models. Crew also did not allowed the use of ipad throughout the flight.

Cockpit crew did not speak a single word to passengers over the PA for the whole duration of the flight. Upon arrival the plane parked a far remote bay and you need to wait for the bus for quite a while. KL - PEK can be checked in online but not PEK-KL. MAS is their ground handling agent at KLIA.
