Tuan Khiem, I really love the shots of the 4 ATRs next to each other :yahoo: thx for sharing the latest pictures! Of course I also like the nightshots :clapping:

Thanks for encouragement... I'm new kid in the town.

Wow UA 744 why so huge could they just send a B772 OR 757 like Delta. Seemslike N535US likes Vietnam

If I am not wrong, Delta's B757-200 is based in Tokyo Narita and it is actually Northwest's B757-200. The B757-200 performs Asian regional routes to destinations like TPE, BKK and so forth. It is always nice to see a B757, which is fast becoming a rare bird in Asia.

First of all: my apologies for posting late a selection of pictures I was able to shoot at SGN during my recent visit in July/August... :sorry:

Thanks to Tuan Khiem, Kanehoshi and Vu, I was able to visit some real nice 'spotterspots' at Tan Son Nhat :good:

Don't always think it's sunny and the weather is nice @ SGN:

SGNjul-aug2009052.jpg

A very familiar colourscheme for our Malaysian friends (Transmile), is this K-mile Boeing 727-200Freighter:

SGNjul-aug2009023.jpg

As Tuan Khiem has mentioned before, this TU-134A has been moving around at the airport:

SGNjul-aug2009038.jpg

Dedicated to Cornelis, who even SMSed me, whether I had seen this Dutch Lady or not:

SGNjul-aug2009032.jpg

This is not early seventies, but 2009 !!! :pardon:

Man, how do I just LOVE her whopping sound:

Tuan Khiem: where is your Ha Noi picture ?

Let's continue with some pictures from SGN:

VIVA is operating daily from Macau, unfortunately, always with the same 767:

SGNjul-aug2009013.jpg

Head-on view of the SAR MI-8:

SGNjul-aug2009015.jpg

FedEx arriving every morning around 9am:

SGNjul-aug2009025.jpg

During my previous visits, I always missed the 330, so was happy to finally nail her:

SGNjul-aug2009034.jpg

Not only MI-8's are operating from SGN, also this EC225 SuperPuma was seen arriving one day from Vung Tau:

Are you enjoying the pictures, guys ? :nea: ?

MI-8 of Viet Nam Air Force, making an approach to runway 25L and the airbase:

SGNjul-aug2009007.jpg

Thai Air Asia has succesfully 'beaten' Bangkok Airways on the BKK-SGN flights, as the latter will cease operating the route eff. the end of October (as posted already by Naim):

SGNjul-aug2009055.jpg

IMHO this is one of the best liveries on the 330 - EVA of Taiwan:

SGNjul-aug2009057.jpg

Another Taiwanese airline operating into Tan Son Nhat is UNI Air with the MD-90, and is belonging to the same holding company as EVA:

SGNjul-aug2009045.jpg

A real nice smoker and possessing an extremely nice roar is this Antonov AN-26, about to depart runway 25L:

Although quite common at KUL, Cargolux was a nice and surprise visitor for SGN:

MI-8 (or is it MI-17 ?) of Search & Rescue (like Bomba in Malaysia ?):

SGNjul-aug2009014.jpg

A different ATR-72 of CambodiaAngkorAir (as previously posted) seen landing on 25R:

MI-8 of VNAF/VIP division (correct me if I'm wrong SGN-guys):

Great shots Pieter :good: Vietnam airline's cheatline reminds me of the old Aeroflots.

I noticed that most of the Vietnam helicopters underslung hatch is painted with the Vietnam Flag :good:

MI-8 (or is it MI-17 ?) of Search & Rescue (like Bomba in Malaysia ?):

Bomba operates 4 Mi-17 (2 with ramp rear door & 2 clampshell rear door).

Great shots of the different traffic that you receive over there in Vietnam! Well done. :)

Thanks for your very nice comment, greeting from Vietnam.

KUL has fallen far behind cities like saigon as far as traffic is comcerned ( Foreign airlines not MH or AK)

Maybe some of the blame can be put on AK/D7... They have taken away the volume pax and other airlines might find it hard to compete!
