KK Airport has no instrument landing system, endangering passengers
Newitt replied to alberttky's topic in General Aviation
Maybe his licence reads 'ILS Approaches only', much like the DA class on the Malaysian driving licence  That or whoever wrote the piece took what he said out of context. -
Malaysia Airlines slapping me with 734s and old 738s.
Newitt replied to Danial's topic in General Aviation
Was this on the tail numbers OK-TVx craft? I like that MH has had a colourful history with the 737's. Almost all series is/was in MH fleet. Wish could go back to the halcyon days of Subang based 737's. -

Cheers, I was half-expecting it'd be a 734. -

What aircraft was that? Could it be brake-related? -

No Asianas in sight, phew! -
The fact that that came from Penang Airport 'senior' manager is quite disappointing. Seems like people can't make the distinction between 'airport' and 'terminal', only in Malaysia I suppose. Fact that's evident in the naming of the new budget terminal as 'KLIA2'.

Hired guns are a dime a dozen now...

Been told to do that too! AK check in agents do it for you, this nonsense is unique to MH I guess. MH ground people are as bad as their cabin crews are good IMO.

Armrest hoggers are the worst, and whinging large passengers telling you not to recline into their belly are the second worst. Not my fault you're overweight, sorry.

Helicopter with Minister made an emergency landing
Newitt replied to Cire's topic in General Aviation
Which begs the question of why such a flight is necessary? I'm pretty sure a visit by the 'esteemed menteri' to the highway control centre would have sufficed, no? Thought we've got plenty of cameras on the highways already? I thought emergency vehicles like Bomba's helo's should be on alert for emergencies, not used for joyrides like this? -
I've seen countless flat screen TV boxes at KLIA too!

KK Airport has no instrument landing system, endangering passengers

Absence of ILS is hardly 'endangering'. Going by PKR guy's logic then the likes of Bario, Mukah etc are endangering passengers' lives too. Politicians and aviation, oil and water. -
Light aircraft crashes in Melaka Straits, three survive

Shahrom, Shar Rom, I bet the gaffe is more traumatising to the instructor than the crash itself, whatever his/her name is... -
Talk about sleeping on the job, won't be long before a guy is found dead in an airplane's wheel well

Insulting? Please don't make a mockery of your good self. Give yourself a bit of respect before earning others' Looks like they wanna have simultaneous A380 ops on a single very wide runway, a first in the world

Talk about a nose job/rhinoplasty -
I know this sounds petty but I don't get the name KLIA2, that just implies there are 2 KL International Airports. Why not call it MTB2 or Main Terminal 2 or anything like that now that it doesn't seem low cost anymore?
