  1. i agree. You want, you pay lah! MAB could lease the land to AK and they finance it themselves and work out some kind of split for the airport tax. Since AK is soooo concerned about it's pax, maybe don't charge airport tax if it's their own building!
  2. This taken from BBC news today: Maxjet also stop flying in December. Alitalia is hanging by a tread, Silverjet in deep trouble, I can't remember the last time so many airlines closed shop in such a short time. Is Eos in trouble too?
  3. What for give bazuka..... most likely no ammo!
  4. He was going TO Singapore. Just reported on Buletin Utama....... CCTV not working!!!!!! Apa lah!!!
  5. Now that what you call superb customer service! A personal reply and your problem solved!
  6. My point is that D7 does not at the moment have the economy of scale with just 2 destinations i.e. Oasis. So it would be more exposed to the volatile economic climate at the moment. Making a profit this month is going to be harder next month. Not that Skybus is the same as D7 but it had a huge capital funding of US$160 million and they still failed. Please also note, this does not mean I wish for D7 or any other airline to fail. It is just a "fear" that I feel about the state of the world economy as a whole and the aviation sector in particular.
  7. I feel sorry for the affected passengers and also employees for all the airlines that have ceased operations. There might be a few more airlines that will go bust in the near future. High fuel prices and a shaky US economy is going to be very difficult for all the airlines. I think AirAsia X is going to find it very hard to survive with only 1 plane and 2 destinations at the moment.
  8. true! It's time that all airlines in selling tickets in Malaysia be forced to state the nett fare inclusive of all fees i.e. in Australia.
  9. for 1st bold, it was the usual stupid editor or journalist getting facts wrong again. and for 2nd bold, it's the usual PR spin of trying to mislead i.e. taking thru their ass.
  10. ok....if you control with 35% then the other guy with 65% is what? Out of control?

Jannar, I admire your optimism. I too was like you, when I joined MH. I do hope that you feel the same 5 years from now.
  12. Boooooooo!!! read the FAQ's and as far as I am concerned........ nothing but crap! You wanna make more money just say so lah! Coming soon....pre-book the toilet. To ensure we save water and toilet servicing AK will now charge RM2 for a small job, RM5 for big job and RM5 for toilet paper. Frequently asked questions 1. Why is AirAsia introducing the fee? AirAsia believes that guests should be given the option to choose the services they require and pay only for those services. This approach helps keep AirAsia's basic fares low, which is our main priority. Previously, the cost of taking a pee or crap was automatically included in every fare; meaning those who never use the toilet were subsidising those who do. Now, each guest will pay only for the kind of things they do in the toilet, enabling us to keep our basic fares low for all. Fewer passengers taking a leak will improve aircraft efficiency and will eventually lead to shorter queues for the toilet.
  13. Skybus is the latest casualty. Below is taken from their website. They had the biggest start-up fund of US$160 million double that of Jetblue. Wonder who's next?
  14. It will be a very brave airline to introduce something this radical in seating. Personally, I like the idea of more elbow room plus having a better view of the window from the aisle seat. The window seat would however be a nightmare for a someone like me who has to pee very often.
  15. It is great that the B738 has the range to enable MH to serve international destinations that are too small for the A330. I hope that MH will have different cabin configuration and amenities for the B737-800 that they will use on these long thin routes to India, China and Australia. They should have entertainment systems and a better pitch than the aircrafts to be used on the domestic/ASEAN routes.
  16. A sad note for me is that EK will stop KUL-CGK from this coming winter schedule, while maintaining the 9 weekly flights. This should give KUL more seats to DXB and not share with CGK on 3 of the 9 flights per week. They will however open a huge new KL office (more than 7,000 sq feet) in July.
  17. yes finally!!!!!!!!!! Hope the inflight service will improve by then and I get to fly on them, if not then it's the red A320 for me
  18. Not a good week for US Airways. Now this happens:
  19. GA has in-fact up graded it's domestic service in order to compete against the many LCC in the country. For EY pax the baggage allowance is 30Kg. For flights below 60 mins inf-light service consist of newspaper, short movie, snacks service and choice of drinks. For 60-90 mins, newspapers, short movie, HOT MEAL, choice of drinks, On board shopping. For more than 120 mins, same as before but the HOT MEAL has 2 choice. See the full list here That's how you compete with LCC's. Premium service with premium price NOT LCC service with premium prices. I think this shall be my last comment regarding the snack box. Enough said, now it's other airlines for me.
  20. Penang is home to many factories that produce micro-chips and other hi-tech items.
