  1. Looks nice but at an estimated RM2 billion, I'm sure it's more expensive than a lot other airports in the country. It's not low cost.
  2. The announcement came out as something very refreshing, albeit a humble order of 15 A330s. Their current fleet of A330 is so old and dated, any replacement will be welcomed.
  3. What to expect when the top leaders also squander the wealth of the country? Their kakis, down to the lowest rung, would also do the same. The whole country is rotten to its core.
  4. People could steal firearms and even an entire jet engine from military base. It's a serious matter of security. What's next? Some armoured vehicles? Our pride submarine?
  5. Yea, ask them to change your flight to what suit you best.. 35 min transit is too short. You are lucky they informed you early.. Still got until Feb.. Last time, in my case, they informed me only few days before flying, so ended up spending more money than I should with hotel and connecting flights..
  6. Just returned from my trip to South Korea with MAS.. No doubt top class service.. Also notice they have quite a few Japanese and Korean stewardesses now..
  7. In retrospect, MAS should have just paid for the treatment.. Bandage and a few stitches probably won't cost much.. The way it is, MAS did eventually pay but still got complained.. that's how grateful some people are, though it's probably their silly mistake of simply putting the bottle in the overhead compartment.. Money gone and got complained in a national newspaper, really not worth it.. Better just to pay for them in the first place.. MAS should study this case and come up with a way to deal with similar cases in the future..
  8. I suspect if it's a faulty latch that opened by itself upon landing, the person would have mentioned it specifically, the "overhead compartment opened by itself!!". But the way she wrote it seemed more like hiding some facts to make it looks like it's all MAS's fault. Orang putih is very good with this kind of thing.. They withhold some facts and only tell partial truth to make them appear all innocent and others look bad..
  9. Yup..confirm that.. maybe too many people complain about the daylight robbery of charging convenience fee to direct debit..
  10. Thought lowering the landing gear prior to landing is something that pilots do so often that it should be second nature to them.. Though they have checklist, they should not need any prompting. Unless they are very new or tired.. So forgot to lower the landing gear is a serious matter..
  11. Air Asia conveniently only reveals the extra fee just before you make the payment.. So the ticket price appears cheaper than what it is.. Guess other airlines also like that.. but I hate this kind of cheap tactics. Now, Air Asia is often only marginally cheaper or more expensive than MAS.. This inconvenient fee won't help..
  12. Lady pilots or male pilots... who cares... as long as the individual can fly planes, that's all that matters. In this day and age, I guess we shouldn't classify them base on gender...Just call them pilot. It's not like we are still in the 1960s or 70s.. It's time to move on..
  13. Probably feel like tayar pancit..the plane being lopsided.. I think they should just write off the aircraft.. it's old and had had quite significant damage.. even if technically can be repaired, passengers may not feel confident to fly..
  14. Yea.. haha.. if this kind of trend continues, you will need to pay for anything.. supposedly to enhance in-flight experience. Now chances are you can get empty seats beside you also if you fly long haul.. no need to pay anything.. When I flew from Narita to KL via KK.. the flight was less than 50% full, you get 5 seats for yourself with all their pillows and blankets.. You can eat their share of peanuts as well if desperate..
  15. Hmm... free flights for life.. Just hope that they won't quietly reverse the decision, especially after the news subside and no one cares about it..
  16. Wow.. even small towns now can have direct access to Singapore.. Looks like Malaysia government is helping Singapore to further reinforce itself as the aviation hub in SEA and paving way for the demise of KLIA.
  17. Sometimes I'm horrified when I saw comments posted by MAS employees on facebook.. For some of their staff, it seems the only thing that matters to them is their bonus or something to their personal gain. Wow.. their airline is making huge losses at operating level, yet they only have their self-interest in mind. With those kind of employees in MAS, so pampered, it will be hard for the airline to propel itself forward.
  18. With good management on their part, and supportive policy on the government part, I believe they can fly any aircraft.. If not, smaller aircraft also won't help. Malaysia should have one good premier airline and one good LCC. I would like to see MAS to have A380 in their fleet.
  19. I favour twice daily KL-Perth flights for better connectivity.. But if they are using B738s to Perth, hope they better make sure they have comfortable seats and good leg room. Otherwise customers will look elsewhere..
  20. Not that urgent to land it immediately I suppose..
  21. Their coming 738 will be leased from Penerbangan Malaysia also? I thought last time MAS said they have to gradually pay for the planes up to delivery. They stated it was one of the reasons they made operating loss last quarter. If they lease it from PMB, why dont PMB pay for the planes and lease it to MAS...
  22. Oh.. I thought we will have MAS a380 by 2011.. so that's now uncertain.. For their wide bodies, they seem to be taking awhile in making up their mind. Thought some of their planes need to be replaced fairly urgently, like the current fleet of a330.. No PTV and sometimes the main screen doesn't work, feel so budget flying with those planes..
  23. Great work.. something to look forward to if I'm bored in KL.. Guess there will be flight instructor and perhaps a brief tutorial prior to jumping on the hot seat, otherwise people will be simply pressing buttons and pulling things..
  24. Hmm.. UK fund managers.. guess they are not those greedy managers who ultimately caused the collapse of world's economy.
