Dr Chuo Hock Tieng replied to Mohd Azizul Ramli's topic in General Aviation

MAS Introduces Mandatory Self Check-in
Dr Chuo Hock Tieng replied to flee's topic in General Aviation
so what the fuss being MANDATORY to online chk in? is it improvement? more efficient? more trouble making for pax? saving on staff cost, saving on boarding passes cost? what is the reason for doing so? as far as i know, maswing on KCH SBW for eg, only ATR 72 and B738 used, KCH KUL only 738 used. At one point they only use 1 ac type, but on the other point those different configuration makes them stupid as u say. f you cannot provide convenient the word MANDATORY is very very rude... well, i may not know the exact reason they do so, to what extent they will provide services to reduce the effect from the MANDATORYness of check in by pax themselves. What ever it is, just wait and see what will happen... -
MAS Introduces Mandatory Self Check-in
Dr Chuo Hock Tieng replied to flee's topic in General Aviation
i used to be business travellers. hence i depart on monday, back on saturday... so if this rules implies back then, i would hv problem checking in on the return sector while on travel with no smart phone n 3Gs back then...if they allow online check in a week earlier, i will do my check in on return leg before my departure. -
MAS Introduces Mandatory Self Check-in
Dr Chuo Hock Tieng replied to flee's topic in General Aviation
another issue is that MAS MANDATORY online check in is only for 48 hours prior departure. hence if my return sector is >48 hours i have to queue at self check in and then queue for luggage drop... very inefficient. The prior departure check in time should extended to at least a week, so travellers can save time from queuing at check in kiosk. -
i found out this report the points pointed out were very relevant to salvage MAS. http://malaysiagazette.com/nasional/nobody-wants-hear-mas-voice-please-dont-do-abdul-aziz#axzz32spKGiOg

Perhaps developing Miri is mainly targeting Brunei market, as AK definitely will not get 5th freedom right at BGW? -
oh ya, you reminded me of the double park case happened at KK video in fb that gone viral. Couldn't agree more.

Kuching International Airport (KCH/WBGG) 2013
Dr Chuo Hock Tieng replied to Pieter C.'s topic in Observation Hill
Funny looking AK5345 heading to KCH instead of KBR with reduced altitude... technical prob? or FR24 error. I hope is the latter looks like going to land at KCH clear to land?? ok confirmed diverted to KCH, any insider news? -
i guess LCCT don't even bother or don;t want to care about the issue, as long as air asia at BKI is making money. I was looking at another photo earlier, only 1 lane enter and 1 lane exit? KCH has 4 lane double deck and still jammed during peak hours, needless to say if only 1 lane

On the other hand , i did experience the bad side of AK catering before. First encounter, when the pizza is available on online booking, i was served expeired pizza before, 2nd experience the roasted chicken, was served with burnt vage, potatoes and chicken. Asked for a changed but the stewardess said, sorry cannot change because u opened it already, but i said, "if i dont open how do i know its burnt like hell?" She replied, "sorry sir, opened already kenot change." Wtf...i m avoid ak hard since then. -

4Q 2013 Financial Results for MH, AK and D7
Dr Chuo Hock Tieng replied to Johan Z's topic in General Aviation
many factor need to be consider, one particular point i notice clearly in MAS flight was poor utilization of aircraft. Some only operate 4 short haul sector per day, some 6 most 7, u can try check this in FR24, just click on the aircraft rego and it shows you previous leg, on the other hand, AK a/c really work like hell... 8-10 sector from 6 am to 12pm...daily -
