  1. Obviously. Who wants to spend almost an entire day on a bus that's driven at ludicrous speed when you can fly and spend more time at your destination doing the things you want to do. And it's less tiring to go by air...
  2. Can anyone explain to me how the loss of a nosewheel can lead to loss of the aircraft?
  3. Does anybody have any pictures of Concorde in Subang? I remember seeing a picture of an Air France Concorde at KL Sentral but I just can't remember which area it was. I saw a pic of a BA Concorde in Subang on a website, but I've lost the URL!
  4. I think it's a bad idea. Long haul, low cost airlines have yet to prove their viability. If D7 and AK merge it could lead to catastrophe if one of them, more likely the long haul airline failed. AK themselves could be shut down. Of course, that's the worse case scenario.
  5. Yep, MAStar was the private charter arm of MH, back when they were high flying, using the BBJ. When the govt took over, the BBJ became the govt VIP fleet
  6. Is there room for an LCCT in Penang? The airport's surrounded by factories...could it be placed near the cargo hangar on the other side of the airport...
  7. Well, I hope that's a sincere statement...
  8. That's pretty lucky! What are the chances of a LAE qualified to work on that type of aircraft being on board when a technical fault occurs? Not high....
  9. I'm sure it'll cost them a bundle! Unless they can work out something with MH, which I doubt. Last time anything like this, back in the 70's I believe with the DC-10, it was one of the contributing factor to the death of the Laker Skytrain.
  10. That's suicide! How many airlines will be affected? What about those whose fleets consists of ONLY long-range Airbuses? (D7 comes to mind). And what's this about a Northwest & TAM incident? Why didn't they take action before the AF crash? They could have done something to avoid the crash, but no, people have to die first before any action must be taken....
  11. One after the other...not a good year for aviation, all these crashes.
  12. Virgin Blue did this as an April Fool's joke. But if this is real...what a joke!
  13. Why did they change their branding from everything golden to what we have now? I can still remember eagerly reading their in flight mag Wings of Gold that my dad took from the plane, which later became the rather generic-sounding Going Places. The Gold theme have a certain class to it.
  14. Did this made the news? Considering that its an A330 and everything...
  15. No admin fees caused their entire system to overload? Damn...they should have thought about it before...
  16. My boss wanted to book a ticket for a flight tomorrow morning to KBR, and 1st he tried going thru AK website. He couldn't get through to booking, so he thought the Internet system in the office got problem and sent me to KL Sentral to buy it. But when I reach there, the AirAsia counter was swamped with people, and there's a sign saying their systems are down. Never mind, I tried Firefly. They also said their system was down. Fortunately their call center can take the booking, otherwise one of the staff couldn't make the meeting scheduled tomorrow. What's going on eh?
  17. Well, I knew the rules from playing Madden NFL. Don't ask why I play the game when I think American Football is boring. I just play... But check out today's Malay Mail. Already there are grumbling noises from the national sport teams on the relevence of D7's sponsorship of the Raiders. Why not sponsor Malaysian teams, they asked.
  18. The Oakland Raiders want to enhance their brand globally? How, when all the NFL games are played morning Malaysian time? Not to mention the fact that American Football is, well, boring!
  19. That's two BA planes stricken whose destination was KL. BA Flight 9 was the first, the one that flew into Volcano ash in Indonesia in '83
  20. I'm waiting for the Mount Erebus disaster episode. So many lives are lost because of negligence by Air New Zealand...
  21. Now this is leading by example. Not like Willie Walsh asking his employees to work without pay, while management continues to draw a salary
  22. The pilot's 61? I thought the retirement age for pilots is 60?
  23. If Willie Walsh is truly honest in cost cutting, he should have asked all the management to surrender their pay for a while, not the guys who are the backbone of the airline. I'm sure many of the management can afford to continue living their lives without pay, but for the little ppl, I doubt they can, as the union stated.
  24. It's a myth! QF never lost a JET aircraft, but go back in history to the old days of the early planes, and then you'll find that they've had fatal accidents before.
  25. Shouldn't that be the other way around? Interntational routes covering for the losses of domestic routes? At least, that's what I've always assumed.
